Great news from our friends at Breast Cancer Network Australia last week with the life-prolonging drug Enhertu now officially part of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme for people living with HER2-low metastatic breast cancer.   This targeted therapy could transform treatment for around 1700 people each year. The financial burden is also significantly reduced, with the cost of treatment now dropping from $10,000-$15,000 every three weeks to just $31.60.   "Until now, Enhertu has been out of reach for most people due to its extreme cost,” said Kirsten Pilatti, BCNA CEO. “This is an incredible example of the strength of our network and ability to achieve real and significant change. Without our foundation partner Bakers Delight, who have supported BCNA from our inception, our continued efforts to be the voice for all Australians affected by breast cancer would not be possible.”   Find out more at https://lnkd.in/gR7NzRBz

Supporting the community can take many different shapes and forms. For the team at Bakers Delight Kyabram (Victoria), it means helping both their local and global community. Instead of sending excess stock of our campaign aprons to landfill, Liza Curtis and her team collect them, have them converted into carry bags and then sell them to customers. The money raised provides income for the local seamstress as well as a community sewing group in remote East Timor. #community #baking #kyabram #social

What a great start to the new financial year, with two brand new bakeries firing up the ovens and spreading the delight this month. Congratulations to Sagar and Lativa who successfully opened Bakers Delight Bannockburn (Victoria) last Monday and had a very successful first week. This new site is located in the rapidly growing residential region north of Geelong and with some extensive expansion on the cards for the shopping centre, the bakery is set to benefit from some significant local foot traffic well into the future. Further north, we also recently celebrated the opening of Bakers Delight Maryland (NSW). This new site is located in the booming greater Newcastle region and is bakery number two for Franchisee, Kylie. Kylie and her partner Justin pulled out all the stops to get this bakery open on time and judging by their first few weeks of sales, Bakers Delight Maryland is set for some exciting years ahead. With some significant network growth planned between now and 2030, these are the first of many new bakeries to come, so watch this space! #franchising #business #growth

Supporting Breast Cancer Network Australia through our annual Pink Bun campaign for the last 20 years has always been special, but this year has been like no other, with the Bakers Delight network raising a record breaking $2.3 million+! With more than 20,000 Australians affected by breast cancer every year, this year’s campaign took on extra significance for the Bakers Delight family when our own Hayley Fyfield (Franchisee at Hampton in Victoria) lost her battle with breast cancer in March. Across the nation, our bakeries turned pink and our customers showed their support by digging deep to donate and/or purchase Fun Buns, Beanies and Tote Bags, with all sales being donated directly to BCNA. We are proud to be one of BCNA's founding partners and extra proud of our network of Franchisees who consistently raise the bar each year to support this very important cause.

A special post of gratitude this week for our friends at Robina Town Centre who pulled out all the stops to help make our recent Ride For Hayley event such a success. 😀 This special event was a virtual and physical bicycle fundraiser that was run inside the centre in honour of Hayley Fyfield – a Bakers Delight Franchisee who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year. The team at Robina Town Centre pulled out all the stops to ensure this event could go ahead in a highly visible location, with unmissable event promotional space and very little time to turn it around. Even their office staff got behind the cause, with 20 of their team members volunteering to get on a bike to clock up some kms.  💪 With their support, this event raised over $20,000 Breast Cancer Network Australia who provide vital support for those affected by breast cancer. What a great example of two businesses working together to support our local community! 💗

Communities are often at their best when they are rallying together to help locals who are doing it tough. 😇 Last year, the Bakers Delight Operations Team in NSW did just that, having collaborated with 20 Franchisees from across the Newcastle region, to support the 2023 Hunter Homeless Connect Day. 🙏 This is an annual event linking people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming so, to vital services such as; housing, health and wellbeing, legal and financial assistance, employment or study. 🏡💵📚 Watch as special support was provided to those who need it most.

We are delighted to have taken out a major award at last night’s Franchise Council of Australia awards in Cairns. During a prestigious awards presentation at the Cairns Convention Centre, Bakers Delight was presented with the Excellence in Marketing Award in recognition of the 2023 Pink Bun Campaign. The award was collected by Bakers Delight Joint CEO, Elise Gillespie While this annual campaign raises much needed funds and awareness for our ‘breast friends’, Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), the 2023 campaign had some extra significance because it featured the faces and stories of three Bakers Delight Franchisees who have had their own battle with breast cancer. Their bravery in sharing their very personal stories inspired both their fellow Bakers Delight Franchisees and customers around the country to dig deep and ultimately raise more than $2m for BCNA.

For over two decades, we have supported Breast Cancer Network Australia ('BCNA') in their efforts to assist people affected by breast cancer, by donating 100% of our Fun Bun sales to the cause. This annual campaign kicks off tomorrow and this year, we are running an extra special event to honour one of our own, who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer in March. ‘Ride For Hayley’ is a virtual fundraising bicycle journey, from 9 – 19 May. This journey will cover over 3,000km from Robina Queensland to Hampton Victoria, and back, to raise much needed awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. To support your community and participate, no matter where you are, all you need to do is; ·      Ride 10km (bike or exercise bike) ·      Donate $10 ·      Challenge 10 friends to do the same For more information on how you can participate and donate, click the link below; https://lnkd.in/gugnHpak

Something exciting is baking! 🍞 Recently, we collaborated with our partner Life Ed | Healthy Harold, Australia’s most trusted preventative health education provider, to produce some special resources for families and children. 👨👩👧👦 We can’t tell you what it’s all about yet, but, we love supporting our community and helping families and children make healthier choices, for a better tomorrow. 🥕 We had lots of fun on set, and know between our ‘Product Development and Support Manager' Luke Farrell, Life Ed Educator, Cassie Andrews-Hunter and ‘Healthy Harold’ the Giraffe, that something delightful (and deliciously nutritious!) is coming! Watch this space! 💛 #LifeEdxBakersDelight #Partnership #Community

Putting a snag on sliced white bread has become an Aussie tradition, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been a presenting partner at this year’s Melbourne Food & Wine Festival's iconic ‘Celebrity Sausage’ event, for the second year in a row. 😀 Last weekend, the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival attracted all ‘foodies’ near and far to Melbourne, celebrating all the foods that make our city delicious. As an iconic food brand, we were delighted to be a part of this premier food event. ✨ The ‘Celebrity Sausage’ event saw 10 celebrities develop their own unique gourmet sausage recipe, which was served on our delicious and freshly baked Hi-Fibre Lo-GI bread. The star-studded line up of celebrities included the likes of, chefs, musicians, businesspeople and footballers such as; Daen Lia, Art Simone, Matt Preston and Isaac Quaynor. 🌭 It was so great to see these celebrities truly putting the ‘sizzle’ in their sausage, with some freshly baked goodness! 🍞
