In 2023, there were 32 fatalities and 122 non-fatal injuries reported on Australian farms. Did you know that 63% of on-farm fatalities in 2023 involved farm vehicles or mobile farm machinery? Regular maintenance and safety protocols are not just good practice - they are essential for protecting farm workers and ensuring the sustainability of a farm business. #ChooseRoadSafety #workrelatedroadsafety #bethechange

95 lives were lost on our roads last month. This brings the 2024 road toll to 956, a 3.2% increase on the same period in 2023. Every choice we make on and around the road can make a difference. How do you #ChooseRoadSafety?

In a positive sign of hope for curbing this upward trend in fatalities, our recent research has indicated the power of heightened road safety awareness has on individual behaviour. 8 in 10 Australians say road safety messages have had a positive impact on their behaviour. You can help improve road safety at work by encouraging open discussions about road safety and implementing ongoing safety training and procedures to foster a culture of responsibility and care for all employees. #ChooseRoadSafety #workrelatedroadsafety #bethechange

With more than 60% of workers using a private vehicle to get to and from work, it is important to perform regular vehicle checks and maintenance before heading off, no matter the length or the purpose of your journey. #ChooseRoadSafety #workrelatedroadsafety #bethechange

Australians are travelling to work an average of 3.9 days per week. 68% expect their commuting routines to remain similar in the coming year with 22% expecting to travel more, while 7% expect to travel less. Road safety in the workplace extends beyond just truck, bus, and taxi drivers. It's about everyone— those who commute to and from work, drive between worksites, running errands, and those using alternative modes of transport. How do you incorporate road safety in your role? #ChooseRoadSafety #workrelatedroadsafety #bethechange

In 2023, 200 fatalities occurred in the Australian workplace. 42% (84) of worker fatalities were the result of Vehicle Incident, an increase of 3.7% from 2022. Vehicle incidents continue to account for the largest proportion of worker fatalities in workplaces across Australia. Work-related road safety relies on both individual actions and set procedures to help minimise risks. Whether you are an employer or an employee using the road, workplace road safety is a shared responsibility. #ChooseRoadSafety #workrelatedroadsafety #bethechange
-
With vehicle incidents being the most common cause of workplace fatalities, we are calling on all places of work to focus on road safety this National Safe Work Month. #ChooseRoadSafety #bethechange #workrelatedroadsafety
