Meet Andrew, aka "Woody", our inspiring Partner Enablement Lead turned author, who transformed his own mental health journey into a resource to help others. 🌟 This is his story: “A few years ago, I was dealing with several challenges at once—work struggles, a rocky relationship, and my grandfather was very sick. It all got too heavy, and I found myself in a dark place. After a number of therapy sessions, my psychologist suggested I write about my experience. At first I thought she was joking, but that’s how Light was born. I wanted to create something simple yet meaningful. If you’re severely depressed, it can be quite overwhelming to read a whole book. Light is something you can read in three minutes, but still leaves you with practical tools for managing anxiety and depression. My biggest hope when writing it was to make sure that people across Australia are engaged in positive conversations about mental health and are empowered to reach out for support when they need it. The message is clear: even in your darkest moments, there is always hope. Because wherever there is shadow, there must also be light. I want everyone to know things can and do get better, even if they can’t feel it at the time.” This World Mental Health Day, read Light and share it with those who might need a little hope today: www.find-light.help 💜 #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealth #Awareness #Light #Support

When cancer runs in your family, the fight becomes personal. Meet Jon, one of our Senior Change Managers here at AP+, whose advocacy work took him to Parliament House in Canberra last month to call for change. 💜 Alongside nine others in his family, Jon carries the BRCA2 gene mutation, a legacy that has claimed the lives of his father and two uncles. In front of politicians and key policymakers, he took to the stage to help launch Breaking the Cycle: Insights from the Inherited Cancers Australia Community, a powerful new report aimed at driving change in the fight against inherited cancers. His passionate speech called for action in three key areas: •  Recognising family health histories •  Starting critical conversations about inherited cancer risks •  Approaching these discussions with empathy and care. Inherited Cancers Australia (formerly Pink Hope) is a charity committed to breaking the cycle of inherited cancer by educating Australian families of their health history, providing evidence-based resources, and connecting them to a supportive community. You can catch Jon in their latest awareness campaign at your local shopping centre: “Cancer can be inherited. So can knowledge.” Read their full report to learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/girg4JPB #InheritedCancers #Community #Change #Health #Advocacy

Big news in cross-border payments! We’re excited to announce that ANZ, Bendigo Bank, CBA, Citi, HSBC, ING, NAB, RBA, Westpac, Bank of Melbourne, BankSA and St. George Bank, Wise and several Financial Institutions sponsored by ANZ, ASL, Cuscal and Indue have joined the International Payments Service (IPS). Launched in December 2023, IPS on the NPP is transforming how international payments to Australia are processed. Why IPS is a game-changer: ⚡ Speed and convenience: IPS accelerates payments 24/7, delivering fast results to Australian businesses and consumers. 📊 Detailed payment information: End-to-end data transmission reduces errors and delays, ensuring smooth transactions. 🔒 Security: Enables robust financial crime controls with sanctions screening and regulatory reporting for safe transactions. ⚙️ Operational efficiency and compliance: ISO 20022 compliance enhances workflows and meets verification standards. We see the rollout of IPS as a foundational step towards better cross-border payment experiences. #InternationalPayments #NPP #CrossBorderPayments #Security #Innovation

We’re delighted to announce the rollout of Merchant Choice Routing (MCR) on transactions made via mobile wallets has kicked off. More and more payments made using a mobile device can be routed via the lower cost eftpos network, if merchants choose to do so. Why is that important? Reserve Bank of Australia data shows eftpos is 40% cheaper on average for debit cards. With almost 50% of transactions now being made via mobile wallets, that’s a huge potential to lower the cost of payments in Australia. In further good news, we’ve also announced lower eftpos fees for eligible small businesses. Lowering the cost of payments in Australia is a fundamental part of purpose – right across all our payment schemes. We welcome the Treasurer’s payday super announcement yesterday, which will strengthen Australia’s superannuation system. What’s changing? From 1 July 2026, employers will be required to pay their employees' super at the same time as their salary and wages. Moving superannuation payments to the NPP will enable employers to meet the obligations of Payday Super, as it offers faster and more efficient payments, easily meeting the requirement to have super payments arrive in the employee's super fund within seven calendar days of their payday. An important development announced yesterday was the intention to revise the SuperStream data and payment standards to allow payments via the NPP. AP+ looks forward to working closely with Government, ATO and the superannuation industry to progress this significant change. The benefits of payday super for employees include; ⚡ Getting their super faster 📈 Compounding investment returns, and 🔒  Avoiding the risk of losing their super due to employer insolvency or non-compliance. This is just one example of how the NPP is shaping Australia’s payments future and enabling better payments for all Australians. What does thriving at work look like to you? 💜 At AP+, we believe that true success comes from actively supporting our people’s wellbeing through positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment.   That’s why our Wellbeing Program is designed to foster an environment where everyone can thrive. ✨   All year, we empower our team with tools like mindfulness sessions, growth mindset and self-development workshops, and on-demand content via our wellbeing app — equipping them to navigate life’s ups and downs with resilience and confidence.   Yesterday, we held one in a series of wellbeing workshops led by special guests Scott Bidmead and Alex Knight from our wellbeing partners, Euda, which brought to life the power of positive psychology and neuroscience when looking out for ourselves and others.   This workshop was just one part of our broader commitment to mental health and wellbeing in the workplace—a practical reminder that checking in with ourselves and each other should be a continuous conversation, not just an annual event.   #wellbeing #mentalhealth #engagement #meaning #workshop
