AHIA Board Announcement                                7th June 2024   Announcement: Australian Helicopter Industry Association welcomes new directors.   At the conclusion of our highly successful RotorTech 24 Convention/ AHIA Conference which concluded at Royal Pines Qld yesterday, the Association’s Annual General Meeting was held followed by a Board meeting from which there are several changes of directors:   Ray Cronin and Myles Tomkins stood down as President and Vice President respectively and have departed the Board after many years of tremendous service. Jim Norrie has been elected as President. Ian Sheffield has been elected Vice-President and Treasurer.   Nominations to join the Board were received from Alana McKenna, Steve Davis and Robert Bentley-Jonston and were all accepted.   President Jim Norrie warmly welcomed the new directors and paid tribute to Ray and Myles for their outstanding contribution to the AHIA over the last 10 years and the significant achievements their efforts brought to the industry.   Please join us in thanking Ray and Myles for their service and welcoming Alana, Steve and Robert to the Board. AHIA President Ray Cronin has today been acknowledged in the Australia Day Awards as a recipient of the Order Of Australia medal for his services to aviation. Ray has worked tirelessly for the promotion of safe, sustainable and workable aviation industries for the past 40 years. His continuing helicopter leadership, guidance and innovation is reflected in the health of the sector and his legacy will be how we continue to grow and address the challenges as an Association and an industry.
