Our refugee cookbook, Flavours of Hope, is now live! From Ukraine to Sierra Leone, each recipe was handpicked by a current or former refugee to give you a taste of their culture. Inside, you’ll find delicious recipes for Vietnamese pho, Syrian sweets and more. Our Ambassador, Janine Allis, founder of Boost Juice, is making a donation every time someone downloads the book. These funds will go towards UNHCR’s life-saving work, helping people flee conflict, disaster and persecution around the world. “Rescue workers had to dig people out from underneath the rubble with their bare hands.” In Lebanon, UNHCR is supplying frontline workers with the tools they need to rescue and assist people caught in the ongoing hostilities. This is just one of the many ways the UN Refugee Agency is supporting Lebanese civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.

We’re very pleased to renew our ongoing partnership with Islamic Relief Australia. This partnership is life-changing for hundreds of vulnerable internally displaced families in Nigeria. It ensures protection and safety for forcibly displaced families and provides access to livelihood and self-employment opportunities. This support means displaced families in Nigeria can live with self-reliance and dignity. A big thank you to Islamic Relief Australia for its commitment to supporting displaced people in Nigeria. This leadership and dedication is inspiring.

Saleh, a Syrian refugee and father, has been displaced multiple times throughout his life. Most recently, the war in Lebanon forced him and his family to flee their home in the south of the country. Now, they are sheltering with other families in a school in Tripoli, northern Lebanon. Across Lebanon, at least 60 percent of public schools are being used as shelters for displaced people who’ve fled the fierce fighting. The UN Refugee Agency and partner organisations have distributed humanitarian aid at the school to support those staying there. 📷 Photo: © UNHCR/Ximena Borrazas

“While we’re all affected by climate change, it’s those least responsible who bear the heaviest burden.” UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Theo James recently visited refugees in Mauritania, where over 262,000 displaced people face the severe impacts of conflict and the worsening climate crisis. Ahead of the UN climate change conference, COP 29, Theo will join UNHCR to advocate for urgent global action to support displaced people on the frontlines of the climate crisis. © UNHCR/Caroline Irby
