About us

Asahi Beverages is one of the leading beverage companies in Australia and New Zealand, producing an extensive range of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages. Our non-alcohol portfolio extends across soft drinks, mixers, mineral water, water, juice, tea, energy and sports drinks, with iconic and well-loved brands such as Schweppes, Cool Ridge and Pepsi. Our alcohol portfolio includes both local craft and international beers such as Asahi Super Dry and Peroni, as well as cider, ready-to-drink and spirits brands. Asahi Beverages formed in 2014 through the integration of the Schweppes Australia and Asahi Premium Beverages businesses in Australia and Independent Liquor in New Zealand. Our Group also includes The Better Drinks Co, a NZ based juice and organic soft drink business and craft brewer, Mountain Goat. We work in a category with rapidly changing consumer wants and needs, which fuels our entrepreneurial spirit and our thirst for category-growing innovation. Our company has grown enormously over the past decade, and as we continue to evolve, we’re looking for people who thrive on collaborating, connection and building high performing teams and who are agile, adventurous and always willing to jump in and give it their all. It’s an exciting time to join our company. We believe that with us, you’ll get the experiences you need to develop to the next stage of your career as together we build the Asahi Beverages and the beverages category of the future. Over the past couple of days, our Multiculturalism@Asahi community gathered at our head office in Melbourne and Papakura site in NZ to celebrate Diwali. Our teams enjoyed vibrant food and some joyful dancing. At Asahi Beverages, we’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong. Events like these give us the chance to learn from each other and honour cultural celebrations that hold deep meaning for many of our team. Wishing everyone celebrating a joyful Diwali! #Diwali #Inclusion #Diversity #Belonging #UnitedWeShine

Yesterday, our HQ buzzed with energy as 100+ employees joined a Women@Asahi networking event. Earlier this year, Asahi Beverages’ Circular Plastics Australia (CPA) PET Team received Asahi’s highest internal accolade, the Global Asahi AGP Awards Grand Prix Award. This was for their work partnering with Pact Group Holdings Ltd, Cleanaway Waste Management, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Government to establish Australia’s largest two PET recycling plants in Albury (NSW) and Altona (Vic) that aim to create a circular economy for PET bottles in Australia. As part of the award, the Asahi team were given about $10,000 to donate to their charity of choice. They chose Albury-Wodonga not-for-profit Junction Support Services to help support their social enterprise café (https://lnkd.in/gdfTsg8k) that trains and employs vulnerable youth. With a major Asahi water bottling facility in Albury along with one of the CPA recycling plants, this donation highlights Asahi Beverages’ commitment to supporting the communities that support our operations.

We’re proud to support Foodbank Australia, Australia’s largest food relief organisation, by donating 8,000 kg of yeast for Bega Group to make 436,000 150g jars (13-million serves) of VEGEMITE for communities facing food insecurity.   Foodbank’s Collaborative Supply Program works to establish regular supply of everyday foods such as VEGEMITE, which has been a mainstay in Aussie diets since 1923 when it was first created using spent brewer’s yeast from Carlton & United Breweries’ Abbotsford site. Now, more than a century later, CUB is a proud part of Asahi Beverages and our Abbotsford Brewery is still providing the yeast in VEGEMITE. At a time when many Aussies are doing it tough, it’s a privilege to contribute and hopefully make meals a little brighter for thousands of Aussie families. Look out for VEGEMITE jars with a purple Foodbank lid sticker!

Barley is the heart and soul of our beer. Asahi Beverages works with Aussie farmers to purchase the best barley, buying more than 75,000 tonnes a year. Asahi’s David Engel recently visited Boolah Farms in northern NSW to attend an event organised by Pure Grain Network, which manages part of our barley purchasing program.   The event drew over 300 attendees, including industry members, farmers and agronomists. David spoke about our work with farmers and the sustainability benefits it brings. You can read more about the event and Dave’s contribution here: https://lnkd.in/gxKFHp_n

We had the honour of welcoming Moe Turaga, a survivor and advocate against modern slavery, to our Southbank head office to share his story. Moe's journey from Fiji to Australia took a harrowing turn when he unknowingly worked for two years without his salary reaching his family. This shocking revelation shows modern slavery is a pressing concern in Australia. Asahi Beverages is committed to respecting human rights, and Moe’s insights highlight how businesses like ours can better protect human rights across the supply chain. Inspired by Moe’s story, we can make a significant difference in taking action to end modern slavery.

A huge thank you to our consumers who, by purchasing non-alcoholic drinks made by Asahi Lifestyle Beverages (including Cool Ridge, Solo, Schweppes, and Pepsi Max) during August, helped support students through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. Asahi Lifestyle Beverages CEO, Nigel Parsons , said, “Now in its fifth year, the Big Give Back is as important as ever to customers who believe in this great cause. We’re extremely proud to partner with The Smith Family for this vital initiative helping students in-need across the country.”

The 2024 One Young World conference in Montreal is a wrap. We’re so proud of Annabelle Dryden, Monique Di Gregorio, Scott Hausman and Suraj A. who, together with Asahi colleagues from other countries, joined 2,000+ young leaders to discuss global challenges like health equality, indigenous voices, climate and ecological crisis, AI and peace.   A huge thank you to our executive sponsors Rita Nador and Nerim Durgutovic for supporting this year’s cohort. We can’t wait to hear all about their experience and see the positive impact they make within Asahi and beyond!    #OYW24
