Anglican Care is a leading provider in the aged care sector across the Hunter, Central & Mid Coast regions
About us
Anglican Care is a leading provider in the aged care sector across the Hunter, Central Coast & Mid Coast regions. We are a not-for-profit organisation and are a part of the Newcastle Anglican group of companies. We offer a wide choice of care services. Our services include residential aged care homes, retirement living, day therapy centres, and home care services. Our history... Anglican Care was established in 1956. The first facility opened in Booragul and was known as the CA Brown Retirement Village. The Newcastle Anglican Church recognised that care and support were needed for the older members of the community. The Anglican faith-based values of genuine care, respect, and compassion for others flowed naturally into the values of the new organisation and Anglican Care quickly developed a reputation for delivering the highest standards of aged care. Since that time, we’ve applied our experience and expertise in these areas. We have developed and implemented innovative award-winning care programs. Whilst we appreciate being recognised as a leader in aged care, the reward comes from caring for our residents, and for them to stay actively connected and engaged with life. For more information about Anglican Care, please visit our website https://anglicancare.com.au or phone our friendly Customer Engagement Team on 1800 733 553.

We are fortunate to have so many great volunteers in our Anglican Care facilities - like Gwenda, who has volunteered at Storm Village for 20 years. The volunteers (pictured) are all long-serving and provide valuable help with craft, companionship, shopping trips, and bus outings. Some of our leaders presented certificates and shared morning tea with these wonderful people as a small token of our appreciation.

NSW Senior Australian of the Year Dr John Ward is involved in a partnership with Anglican Care that may help reduce one of the most rapidly growing groups of homeless people in the state - women over the age of 55. The Housing for Older Persons Project (HOPP) has a number of goals, including increasing the range of housing options in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Today is World Environment Day. It's the United Nations flagship day for encouraging global awareness and action to protect the environment. This year's World Environment Day campaign focuses on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience under the slogan “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” Newcastle Anglican takes seriously its role in protecting and caring for Earth, our planet and home. Many diocesan entities have adopted policies and practices to reduce harm, waste or pollution. This includes fossil fuel investment divestment, eliminating disposable cups at morning tea, and joining local environment groups in bush care, land care, community gardens and op shops to combat fast fashion.
