Aerometrex’s 3D modelling solution has become a part of the tech powering NBC News Election Coverage. Our 3D model of Rockefeller Plaza in the US has become the iconic backdrop for election day news on NBC. The size, scale and fidelity of the 3D dataset are breathtaking when seen on the big screens and provide an extremely immersive virtual environment for the studio. Recent advancements in AR/VR technology and Game Engines such as Unreal Engine when combined with high-quality 3D data, can provide flexibility that can’t always be achieved with a physical environment. The data, technology and creativity behind it make storytelling far more immersive and engaging. NBC has been planning this event’s broadcast for a very long time, and we’re glad we had a chance to be a part of supporting their virtual environment. We’re excited to announce another major project with leading AgTech firm, Agronomeye – working together to empower farmers with the information they need to unlock the full potential of their land including productivity, biodiversity, animal welfare, water use efficiency and carbon projects. This new project further builds on the strong relationship between Aerometrex and Agronomeye since 2020, through a range of projects, and builds on the value of LiDAR as a data source aligned in supporting critical sectors such as environmental sustainability. The LiDAR data will form the foundation layer for the creation of landscape models and be combined with other data sources to support carbon farming projects using Agronomeye’s AgTwin platform. This event will take place over five days at Curtin University in Boorloo (Perth), focusing on knowledge sharing, networking, and celebrating culture. Dr Holt will be contributing to the session on “Exploring Airborne Photogrammetry: Key Principles and Practices” alongside the team from GeoNadir. Additionally, we are excited to hear from the Anindilyakwa Land Council about their projects that have utilised Aerometrex’s LiDAR, Aerial Imagery, and 3D Photogrammetry data. The Indigenous Mapping Workshop (IMW) by Winyama aims to empower Indigenous Australians with geospatial mapping skills.
