The Academy was pleased to join The Australian Academy of Science as a key partner in developing the 10-year Blood Cancer Research Roadmap – a blueprint for accelerating research that improves both blood cancer survivor rates. The Research Roadmap was launched yesterday at the Blood 2024 conference in Brisbane by Academy Fellows Professor Wendy Erber FAHMS and Professor Andrew Roberts AM FAHMS FAA, alongside Bill Stavreski – Head of Research at the Leukemia Foundation. Learn more about AAHMS Fellow Professor Helen Christensen in this profile in The Lancet.
This week’s The Lancet spotlights Helen Christensen and her crusading work to optimise mental health outcomes through preventative technologies, most notably for depression & suicide. Academically of course she’s been acknowledged with many accolades, and is a long run High Cite & approaching Google Scholar double centurion. But this career Perspective not only casts light on her insightful personal & disciplinary journey - at times with near Steve Robson like frankness - but chiefly acknowledges the substantial Lancet Commission on Self-harm which she co-chaired over a 5 year gestation, with the 50 page 500+ reference report now out in the same issue. Worth a look at both. https://lnkd.in/g6d4pZud Black Dog Institute Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences Chris Hatherly Research Australia UNSW Medicine & Health Emma McBride Debbie Georgopoulos Niall Boyce
