About us
Founded over 45 years ago by Dominique Lyone, COS employs over 600 people distributed across every state and territory in Australia. Today, COS remains a family-run, privately owned business led by second-generation sisters, Amie and Belinda Lyone as C0-CEOs. At COS, our purpose is to help Australian businesses succeed by keeping their employees healthy, safe, and productive. We’re committed to forming lasting relationships with our customers and providing them with a stellar experience with specialist solutions for every room in the workplace. As a private, family-owned company, we take pride in our commitment to community and sustainability. Thanks to the dedication of our team and the loyalty of our customers, COS is able to donate 1% of annual revenue to charity via the Lyone Foundation. Since its founding in 2013, the Lyone Foundation has contributed over $20 million to local Australian charities supporting inspiring initiatives and programs focused on human welfare. In 2024 we are working towards achieving our dual goals of net zero operations and 100% renewable electricity across all our facilities nationwide. This milestone underscores our dedication to a sustainable future for our community and the generations to come. A recent COS study of over 1,000 Australian workers revealed a strong reluctance to start a business with family. The primary reason, cited by 50% of respondents, is the belief that mixing business and family can lead to complications. Notably, men are more open to the idea, with 41% expressing interest, while only 25% of women feel the same. Hear from our Co-CEO, Belinda Lyone, as she shares insights on the unique experience of being part of a family-owned and operated business, along with valuable strategies for those considering working with family members. #FamilyBusiness #FamilyOwned #AustralianOwned https://hubs.ly/Q02RMQTJ0

This year’s World Mental Health Day theme, 'It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace,' highlights the importance of promoting mental wellbeing at work for the benefit of individuals, organisations, and communities. According to the ABS National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing, 42.9% of Australians have experienced a mental health condition at some point. Safe Work Australia reports that in 2022–23, mental health conditions made up 1 in 10 serious workers' compensation claims, up from 6.4% in 2012–13 to 10.5% in 2022–23. Psychological injuries, often linked to work-related stress and burnout, can have significant impacts, with a median time loss of 37 working weeks. It's crucial for employers and employees to recognise these issues and foster a healthier, more supportive workplace. Check out our COSpedia article for tips on managing psychological injuries at work. #SafeWorkMonth #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #PsychologicalInjury https://hubs.ly/Q02Rsj5t0
