Customize chart settings in Yahoo Finance for Web
Select chart settings that suit your needs. Choose whether to show price details or extended hours trading. You can also change background and scale settings.
Edit chart display settings
On a desktop web browser
- Go to Yahoo Finance.
- Search for a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page.
- Click the stock chart to open its full screen view.
- In the upper right, click the Settings icon .
- Click the Toggle icon to enable the following settings:
- Extended hours - Include pre-market and after hours trading
- Gray background strips - Enhance time display using shading on the chart
- Price details - Display the key price amounts for the selected point on the chart
On a mobile web browser
- Go to Yahoo Finance.
- Search for a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page.
- Tap Full screen above the stock chart to open its full screen view.
- In the bottom right, tap the Settings icon .
- Tap the Toggle icon to enable the following settings:
- Events - Indicate significant events, such as dividends or splits
- Extended hours - Include transactions occurring outside normal market hours
- Gray background strips - Use background shading on the chart to show time
Change chart scale settings
On a desktop web browser
- Go to Yahoo Finance.
- Search for a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page.
- Click the stock chart to open its full screen view.
- In the upper right, click the Settings icon .
- Under "Y-axis scale," select one of the following options:
- Linear - Uses an absolute change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 dollar)
- Logarithmic - Uses a percentage change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 percent)
- Percentage - Uses a percentage change scale based on the moving average for the chart's time scale
On a mobile web browser
- Go to Yahoo Finance.
- Search for a security, index, or commodity to open its quote page.
- Tap Full screen above the stock chart to open its full screen view.
- In the bottom right, tap the Settings icon .
- Under "Y-axis scale," tap one of the following options:
- Linear - An absolute change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 dollar)
- Logarithmic - A percentage change scale (for example: 1 space = 1 percent)
- Percent - A percentage change scale based on the moving average for the chart's time scale
