In the next edition of our #IP series, Schoenherr expert Andrian Guzun discusses Moldova’s ratification of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement, which was officially ratified on 30 May 2024, expanding protection for both agricultural and non-agricultural products through Designations of Origin (DO) and Geographical Indications (#GI). This move enables #Moldova to secure international protection for its GIs and DOs, while also reviewing protection applications from other Member States. Prior to this, on 26 April 2024, Moldova amended Law No. 66/2008 to enhance the registration framework for GIs/DOs and address existing legal gaps. This week, our Belgrade office hosted a working breakfast titled "How to prepare for the #investment? Steps leading to an easier and faster investment and formal agreement", in collaboration with SGA (Serbian Games Association ). Schoenherr partners Marija Vlajković and Igor Živkovski, LL.M. delivered insightful lectures in which they shared their expertise and experiences. Marija focused on issues that could arise in investor due diligence, such as contractual relationships with key employees and management, and compliance with privacy regulations and information society services for #digital platforms or games as service (#GaaS).
