Meridiam believes that every community, regardless of its residents’ income levels, should have access to the #FiberBroadband needed to live, work and learn in the 21st century.    Owned and financed by #Meridiam, #HoosierFiberNetworksLLC and its GigabitNow ISP partner recently launched affordable and accessible fiber broadband service at Bloomington Housing Authority’s #Crestmont houses. Service will launch at #ReverendButler and #WalnutWoods locations later this year.   Hoosier Fiber Networks, the City of Bloomington, IN and GigabitNow have partnered to develop #digitalskills #training that will be available to all Bloomington Housing Authority residents. The curriculum for these15-hour training sessions was developed alongside local residents to ensure the classes met their specific needs. GigabitNow is offering reduced price service for Bloomington Housing Authority and qualifying low-income residents citywide.   Hoosier Fiber Networks is designing, building, financing and managing a fiber network that will pass more than 77,000 residential and business premises in the Central Indiana cities of #Bloomington, #Columbus, #Shelbyville and in rural #Bartholomew County. Via Pribina, concessionnaire of the #R1 #highway in #Slovakia, has finalized the resurfacing of the highway’s 52-km corridor in the direction of Banska Bystrica, as well of Banska Bystrica northern bypass and the Kostiviarska and Cementarenska intersections. This completion marks a new phase in the R1 highway’s #resurfacing program launched in 2023. Via Pribina aims to deliver in 2026 the third and final phase of the program, on the highway’s corridor to Bratislava. At the end of this final phase, Via Pribina will have completed resurfacing on the full R1 highway and its intersections, representing the largest modernization works undertaken since opening to service in 2011. The resurfacing of R1 highway helps maintain optimal #safety and comfort for drivers and ensure the highway’s #infrastructureresilience. As the first #highwayPPP in Slovakia, under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, #ViaPribina demonstrates the enduring success of the Public-Private cooperation and the capacity of the model to meet the performance indicators set by Slovakian public authorities.

LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the manager and #developer of #LaGuardia’s #TerminalB has launched a new #BINSPIRED #STEM Grant program in collaboration with the The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. This initiative will award one annual $15,000 #grant to a local eligible organization providing #STEM programming to the #Queens community. The B-INSPIRED STEM Grant program will help #localorganizations continue their vital work in inspiring the next generation of #scientists, #technologists, #engineers, and #mathematicians. By investing in STEM education in Queens, the company is ensuring that the transformative spirit of the new LaGuardia Terminal B continues to benefit the #localcommunity.

Following a demolition and remediation phase at the beginning of the year, construction started on the La Plateforme_ #Campus in #Marseille’s Euroméditerranée business district in early July. #LaPlateforme is a #digital and new technology school backed by a number of Marseille-based companies. This new Campus is sponsored by Meridiam and the co-investment fund of France’s urban renewal agency ANRU - Agence Nationale pour la Rénovation Urbaine as well as being supported by Banque des Territoires and Crédit Agricole Alpes Provence. It is unique not only for its size but also for what this higher #education institution offers, namely a wide range of IT courses (web, cybersecurity, AI, digital imaging) for bachelor’s and master’s students. These courses will be open to all, with no age or diploma requirements for admission, and will offer free tuition to students under a work-study programme (known as a ‘sandwich course’ in the UK and ‘co-op’ in the US). La Plateforme aims to accommodate 3,000 students on its campus and welcome young people for cultural and #digitalawareness activities by the end of 2026.     A company with a social purpose (‘#sociétéàmission’), La Plateforme aims to promote #economic and #socialdevelopment through innovations in #training, culture and education. Enrolment in the school has risen rapidly with almost 1,000 students attending in September 2024 (five years after its founding) and 3,000 expected in 2026. This led La Plateforme to imagine a Campus that would be able to accommodate its learning community as well as being a place of culture accessible to the general public.   This new La Plateforme Campus has been designed and developed by its partners to be exemplary in terms of its economic, social, #urban and #environmentalimpact. It reflects their commitment to #lowcarbon conversion and construction projects. Four of the six buildings on the campus are being converted from former industrial buildings, thereby reducing the project’s overall carbon footprint.     Preserving #biodiversity is also central to the project. As such, the site will have even more green space than before, with 1,600 sq.m of vegetation being added in the centre of the block. These green spaces and walkways will also be landscaped using recycled materials, providing places to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
