FMPs = ✨ Flavours with modifying properties ✨ They are added to beverages as food ingredients which can be declared as flavourings. They offer innovative solutions for beverage manufacturers such as a modulated sweetness perception, masking off-flavours or improved mouthfeel. Recap on last weeks’s #Flavorcon2024 in Atlantic City, NJ: Andrea Albertino joined the conference organised by Perfumer & Flavorist+. 👉 The event was a great opportunity for networking with companies across the world as well as starting some conversations with potential new raw material suppliers. During the first day, attendees were guided through a lineup of organoleptic materials with the help of principal flavorist Cynthia Lipka and junior #flavorist Michael Morrison as well as a second session featuring columnist John Wright and junior flavorist Giuseppe Bongiorno, M.Eng. The second day featured a list of presentations including A.I. tools followed by an expert panel (Trevor Groome), smell and taste disfunctions, marketing trends and fermentation techniques for the #flavourindustry. The last day kicked off with Andrea Albertino’s presentation on chocolate #flavourformulation, followed by insightful conversations on beer flavour, citrus oil, vanillin solutions and coca leaf. 🍊 We’re proud to have such a committed member of the #esaromfamily among #Flavorcon and look forward to implement the new insights into our work! P.S.: Check out the pop corns in the album, which were presented as a short tasting session (Shane McDonald) aside of a presentation about “#swicy”! The combination of sweet and chili is an emerging trend reflected in growing number of market products on the shelf, here represented by honey-habanero flavoured pop corn.
