This is a great introduction to mechanical switches. I purchased a “Speed Silver” Keyboard for my desktop at home, because it is the “fastest”. Sounds good right? Fast also means very easy to accidentally press a key. I get many “fat finger errors” using Speed Silver switches, and the keyboard I purchased has soldered switches. I spent $$$ for a keyboard I don’t like and that I will replace. Do yourself a favor and spend $ for this product BEFORE you select a keyboard. Everything seems authentic and very easy to use. Couple of tips. I agree with other reviewer’s, the switches fall out of the acrylic/plastic tray, however if you remove All of the switches, flip the acrylic over to the back side, And re-insert them from the backside, it seems like they stay solid and don’t fall out.
I also advise you to pull off the keycap from the switch. I am a noob to mechanical switches and didn’t understand that they clearly have an orientation, top, bottom, etc. Rotating a switch 90° would make a difference. I’m not sure which orientation is correct yet. The central cross shaped peg on the switch looks like it wouldn’t matter if you rotated 90°, but if you pull the key cap, you will see that there is definitely a rotational orientation.
I highly recommend this as your introduction to mechanical switches. I haven’t decided which switch I like better yet, but this will help, and I can always order even more single switch types to drop in this acrylic tray holder. It’s also a very good fidget toy. Best,

I originally purchased this so that I could test out what kind of switches I wanted on my keyboard, and for that it was quite useful. It came with 9 switch variations, although most of them are pointless for me, as I was going with a corsair keyboard and only needed to test a few switches. But it's great if you plan on buying alternate keyboard brands with better switch variety.

The test kit itself is rather simple: 9 keycaps on top of 9 types of switches. It comes with a keycap remover which was kind of tricky to use because the keys don't stay in the base easily at all. They fall out with a slight pull. And seeing through the keys is trickier for some of the switches that look similar in color, so you have to remove the keycaps to see them properly.

The keys felt pretty good, but due to the lightweight base, you don't get a substantial mechanical feel. The base needs to be weighted down with something, as it makes all of these keys feel hollow. You can still get a decent idea of which keys you like based on the smoothness/bumpiness/clickiness of the actuation points on each switch, though, so it serves its purpose well anyway.

I ended up going with Cherry MX Browns for my Corsair and I don't regret it one bit. I do wish corsair made keyboards with those Cherry MX White switches though, because those felt amazing on the test kit. It's like a brown with a bigger bump.

Overall, I recommend this test kit if you wanna figure out what keyboard switch you're into before shelling out $100+ on one. I just wish it was a heavier product.

Works as advertised, nice feel, and fun as a toy and tester!

I got this because I was tired of looking up five different YouTube videos every time I was curious about the specs of a keyboard. This is a really fun little device. It's pretty easy to swap out the provided/stock switches, but I will note that when removing the keycaps, the switch will usually come out with it. I don't find this much of an issue but the case is clearly meant for display/testing purposes and it does the job exactly as advertised. Excited to have something to fidget with during the day and have a tactile illustration for my friends when I ramble about my hobby.

This is a great little tester! Lets you try out 9 switches from Cherry and includes O Rings so you can make a good informed decision! I really liked their linked documentation page that came with the tester so you can see all the characteristics of the switches to help you mentally understand the differences!
