Disneyland fans, we have great news for you — one of the resort’s new expansion projects is officially underway!
Back in August, multiple new expansions and projects were announced for Disney World and Disneyland at the D23 Expo in California. We’ve been excited about them ever since, and now, construction on the Avengers Campus Expansion in Disney California Adventure has begun!
According to the Orange County Register, the Timon parking lot closes today, January 12th, to make way for the new construction, which will include two new attractions and will double the side of the land.
The two new attractions are Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. The former is a dark ride that will transport riders onto a world-jumping spaceship to remote worlds and alternate realities, while the latter, Stark’s Flight Lab, will be set inside Tony Stark’s workshop and allow riders to fly like Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his roles as Tony Stark/Iron Man in both attractions.
The construction will also disrupt the backstage location of the Red Car Trolley barn, which will close on February 8th to make way for the construction. However, the park plans to keep the Red Car Trolley parked on Buena Vista Street for photo opportunities after the closure.
