You blend up to 32% #hydrogen into the gas, add Carbon Capture & Sequestration (#CCS), and you significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of your power plant. So far, so good. But - if you add Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), you can even reduce the cost of the CCS by up to 7%! That's the result of three Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies our team just completed in #SaudiArabia. What's more: EGR can even bring CCS operational cost down by 6%. The fuel to drive the #OilandGas industry's #decarbonization strategies is electricity. By using electric motors for their offshore operations instead of conventional assets running on liquid fuels, and feeding them with lower carbon onshore power, such as renewables or hydrogen/natural gas, oil and gas companies can significantly reduce carbon emissions in their production process. We are #GEVernovaProud to announce the early completion and energization of five critical substations across #Iraq. These substations are part of a nationwide project that involves the energization of 10 substations by Iraq’s Ministry of #Electricity and GE Vernova to improve #grid stability, enhance network efficiency and enable the interconnection with #Jordan. Upon completion of the project, the Iraqi transmission system will be able to transmit an additional 2,200 megavolts-ampere (MVA) of #power, enabling improved transmission of the equivalent amount of electricity needed to power approximately 300,000 households or about 1 million people. We are committed to #PoweringIraqForward. Over the past decade, GE Vernova has added up to 19GW of power generation capacity to Iraq's grid, built and energized a total of 30 substations, mobilized more than USD 3 billion in financing for energy projects since 2015.
