ExxonMobil beat analysts’ estimates as higher oil production from the US Permian Basin helped cushion a drop in crude prices and tightening refining margins. Exxon earned $1.92 a share in the third quarter, more than the $1.87 median estimate among analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. South Africa has committed to reducing emissions across its coal-fired power plants to secure $2.6 billion in climate finance, even as it seeks to delay the closure of three plants initially set for shutdown. The plan, submitted to the Climate Investment Funds on Wednesday, includes emission cuts at several units within Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd's 14-plant fleet. China’s top solar manufacturers reported significant losses in Q3 due to overcapacity and intense price competition, affecting an industry critical to global energy transition. LONGi Solar posted its fourth consecutive net loss of 1.26 billion yuan ($177 million), a stark contrast to last year’s 2.5 billion yuan profit.
