At Jebel Ali Port, we are installing innovative marine panels designed to mimic natural habitats, creating spaces that encourage marine life to flourish on existing marine infrastructure. By implementing this project, we’re supporting marine biodiversity and contributing to the UAE’s vision for sustainable and resilient coastal cities. Following a successful pilot in Callao, Peru, we are excited to bring this initiative to Dubai and play our part in building healthier, more resilient ecosystems. As we conclude our SDG Week across global offices, we reflect on the urgency to accelerate progress towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Tackling economic challenges with innovative solutions is more important than ever. Our Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, recently spoke at the Observer Research Foundation panel, "A Tiger's Tale: Crafting a New Development Paradigm," on how trade can be a tool to drive economic growth, education and healthcare to promote sustainable development. He highlighted our key role in facilitating trade through investments in infrastructure, such as the Port of Berbera in Somaliland and the Maputo Corridor. These initiatives aim to strengthen local economies, improve market access and reduce trade costs, ultimately lifting millions out of poverty. Cooperation between the public and private sectors is essential. With the private sector contributing 70% of global GDP, we hold the key to building a more inclusive and resilient global economy.
