Forgotten companies-Cletrac
Saved from the scrapper's torch by some enterprising folks, this is a really big Cletrac machine -– an early Model FG of around 1936 vintage. At over 14 tons bare weight, the Model FG could handle most jobs it was faced with. A 94-horsepower Hercules diesel provided the power. Note the unusual bottom roller layout that was a bit of a Cletrac tractor spotting feature
Classic Machine pictures from our archives - this photo accompanied the Cletrac crawler tractor profile in our March 2022 magazine⁣ ⁣ Caption: A Cletrac Model BD with an Isaacson hydraulic angle blade and a really beefy Carco winch of an undetermined model. The 35-horsepower Model BD was diesel powered and weighed approximately 4.5 tons bare. As illustrated here, it probably tipped the scales at around six tons.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #classicmachines #oldiron #contractormagazine #heavyequipment #cletrac #cl...
