COMMERCE -- Spanky, voted "The Funniest Man in Texas," will perform at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Spanky will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, in the Lion's Liar at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center. The public is invited to attend this free concert.
The comedy show is an event for "Catch the Fever" week at A&M-Commerce. "Catch the Fever," sponsored by the student programming board Breakout Entertainment, gives students fun activities to enjoy prior to the end of the semester when class projects are due and final exams are being held.
With his homespun humor, Spanky has performed in all 48 states and 24 countries. He got his title as "The Funniest Man in Texas" in the "Texas Laff Off" contest, beating 40 other comedians.
He has been voted "Comedian of the Year" twice and was named "2002 Campus Performer of the Year." He entertains troops overseas and has earned the "USO All-Star" title.
Spanky has appeared in 37 television shows including "ER," the "Jenny McCarthy Show," "The Late Show" and "Profiler." He has appeared on MTV, HBO and "Comedy Central."
Movies that he has been appeared in include "High School High" and "To the Ends of Time."
COMEDIAN TO APPEAR -- Comedian Spanky will perform Wednesday, April 14, at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Dallasite has been voted "The Funniest Man in Texas."
