Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery (2022)
Hopefully they do more of these
Batman and Bateman, of course, brought it and Maya Rudolph is adorable. She looked like she was having fun and looked hilarious in her basketball uniform. The scene with Sean Hayes breaking character during mouth to mouth had me cracking up. Showing Marshawn Lynch's scare Bateman was hilarious as well.
So, I've heard of Pete Davidson, obviously and I'm aware he is a comedian.... This was the first time I've ever seen him in anything and wow what a disappointment. The guy pretty much stood there, smiling and reacting, like he was an audience member.
Aren't you a professional comedian...? I would be surprised if anyone said that they liked his appearance in this... at least he was only in it for the last ten minutes or so.
Please do more of these Arnett. They are fun to see the actors doing improv.
Murderville: Murder by Soup (2022)
I feel like I could've done better
I've took a few improv classes just for fun and one thing the instructor mentioned that a rule to make a scene happen is to fully go along with it.. always. It is a performance let's remember.
I had to look up Annie Murphy and realized she had won an Emmy for a well received comedy show, so I was interested in this episode. Unfortunately, I feel like maybe she thought she won a prize if she cracked the case. Honestly, it was hard to watch at times when Will would throw lines at her and she wouldn't bite. Almost like she was annoyed with her choice to be on the show. Kumail n Conan both pretty much did all the ridiculous things Will set up for them and it paid off. Even Marshawn lynch, who I don't think has too much improv acting under his belt, did a lot better of a job with this than her. Skip this one probably ..
Battle Creek Brawl (1980)
Jackie Chan in a roller derby match, no
I'm willing to watch most any older Jackie Chan movies from his younger days and reading about this movie I've stayed away until now. The streaming service I used had treacherous sound so it didn't help.
Decent story line with the mob but it was executed poorly and the love interest with Jackie seemed to have no chemistry whatsoever.
There is a cringeworthy roller skating competition that was hard to watch and just looked sloppy and cheesy. The fight scenes that I read that Jackie didn't have too much part in looked like Batman from the old days. The last battle/fight seemed like a circus and it was difficult to take anything seriously even for a goody Jackie movie.
Father of the Year (2018)
Eating cereal out of an ice cube tray? Hilarious.
I found this way better and better production than Joe dirt two and David Spade plays something somewhat of a similar role. I Was not really expecting much but the whole cast did their thing and kept me laughing. Also, the younger actors did a good job, and there were some touching moments between the love interests.
Some of the gags dragged on, but overall pretty funny movie and definitely worth the time if you were used to the happy Madison Netflix films then it shouldn't disappoint. Also a Young inexperienced 20 year old could never build a pool with just a jackhammer and a shovel in a summer.
My Dinner with Andre (1981)
A conversation at a restaurant that most can't afford
A man is meeting an old friend at an extremely nice restaurant. The man he is meeting is wealthy and wearing a nice sweater. He doesn't seem to struggle with money. They drink expensive wine, food and They talk about existence , philosophy and life and Never leave the table.
I couldn't help but think that this would be better listening to this film like a podcast on my ear buds as I did chores and I would not have to look at two Middle Aged men and the old grumpy waiters. Also, being familiar with philosophical ideas and spirituality, I didn't find any of the conversation too enlightening or new. Though there were plenty of interesting points made.
Honestly, I get more out of listening to some teachings by Jiddu Krishnamurti or Alan Watts or Eckhart Tolle. Plenty of deep existential movies out there with good ideas and that actually tell a story in a way.
Bob's Burgers: The Gene Mile (2019)
Very good
Hmmmm, Sometimes on here you read the weirdest reviews and the one star review for this episode is strange..
Both storylines are good and This episode has so many one liners and just brings back nostalgia. Like free ice cream scoops, calling in to win tickets and the dreaded mile, walk/run as a kid. .
I hope rheybbring badk more Cale episodes in the furred as well.
Tina and Jimmy Jr. Runing is enough to watch this episode. I'll just add a Tina quote because that made me laugh
-
Tina- "Oh- crap I forgot my hard hat"
Jimmy Jr.- "Why do you need a hard hat?"
Tina- "'Cause I'm gonna demolish you."
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
Adam Pally was hilarious, great voice acting and CG
Great kids movie especially if you remember it from the Sega games. I am glad it had a reference to snow dogs. Very funny and great action for kids and adults. I could see me watching the cop Adam Pally in more comedies, something about him had me laughing.
Game of Death (1978)
Fights
On the documentary Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey has the full pagoda fight that should be watched over and over again if you are a martial arts film fan. That actually should have been the whole movie.
Getting Doug with High (2013)
Some good episodes if the guests are good
Some episodes are good but it's not because of the host. Doug Benson isn't unfunny but I wouldn't say he is funny. Doug pretty much relies on the guest to make this show entertaining. There is a lot of people on there that are boring and that I just don't have any interest in, as well as a few rude guests for a stoner program. Many times the guests get awkward high and don't know what to do, which is very understandable.
A few episodes are worth watching with Joey Diaz, Sarah Silverman, Eric Andre, Open mike eagle, Anthony Jeselnik, Jay Oakerson, Doug Stanhope, and some other decent guests. The funniest one is the with Jon Daly and Zack Pearlman... they absolutely have the best time and genuinely had me cracking up.
Knock Off (1998)
Favorite part was the rickshaw race by far.
So I watched it for the people involved in the action coordinating and yes, it does have non -stop action, it also has non-stop bad acting. I dislike(d) Rob Schneider immensely and find him always annoying. Maybe him and van-damme look a little alike but I found any type of action Schneider was doing laughable and unbelievable. Jean-Claude Van Damme has some high kicks and there are some good fights, he also some attempts at humor that fail. Some action scenes I noticed he apparently doesn't do all his own stunts and it is obvious during some parts. I would imagine someone else in the role working with these fight choreographers and it would have been amazing, I like van damme somewhat but not here.
Some Pros- fun action and interesting camera work AND Lela Rochon is stunning.
Some Cons- the acting and comic relief.
The story and twists are not mind blowing Either, especially if you watch a lot of movies.
It's not bad just not good and definitely isn't deserving of the 90s action cult status some are giving it.
Jie tou sha shou (1996)
Not a True Sequel In my Opinion
Because of the poor dubbing and its comparison to iron monkey, I think it gets bad reviews. I'm just speculating, but I believe this film was probably done before Donnie Yen was a star. They just released it with a title as Iron Monkey 2 for the video/dvd to bank in on Donnie Yen and Woo-Ping Yuen's Action choreography. I enjoyed the fights and tried my best to understand what was going on but not as bad as everybody here is saying. Or maybe I just watch a lot of movies.
When Harry Met Sally... (1989)
Adorable Meg Ryan
Both the leads are endearing and have their moments . Great dialogue even if it's a bit dated. Had to only give it a lower rating because of the cringe scenes with the old actors portraying couples and how they met, that for me, took away from the story.
Annie Hall (1977)
I can't relate to Woody
I can't stand Woody Allen as an actor and I think he's a somewhat overrated director. This one by him is good and few others are worth seeing, but I wish he was not in them.
The Last Man on Earth (2015)
The first season was perfect
I loved the first season but kept on going downhill. It had some really great cameos though, like John Hamm and will Ferrell and the episode with Kristen Wiig. Might have been better as a movie even.
Wrecked (2016)
Some real funny moments.
Rhys Darby is hilarious in this, but my favorite character is played by Will Greenberg .. The dude must've study frat guys for sure. Some episodes are near perfect.
The Girlfriend Experience (2009)
Probably would've been better as a documentary
Steven Soderbergh has good and bad films, to me this is one of his bad ones. And Sasha Grey as beautiful as she is cannot act too well.
House of Games (1987)
I'm surprised this has such a high rating
Felt like a TV movie in parts and the characters were not believable.
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)
jenna fischer Was not good
Great comedy, John C Reilly was a genius but Jenna Fischer should've been recast. Why couldn't they find somebody who could actually sing and use their real voice?
House of Evil (2017)
absolutely horrible
Even if you can get past the horrible acting (I mean really really horrible overacting), the plot is so overdone it will leave you bored to tears. This movie is in no way "homage" to the classic pieces of the genre. It was not nearly original or well directed enough to be considered such. Very much a failed attempt. Don't waste your time unless you want a laugh at the bad acting.
