- TriviaDavid Bowie was a huge fan of Peaky Blinders. Bowie loved the show so much that he sent the production team a picture of himself wearing a razor blade-peaked flat cap. According to the Telegraph, the singer's "people" also made it clear to creator Steven Knight that he would love to feature on the soundtrack. At the scene where we see Tommy Shelby recovering from the injuries he sustained at the end of the last episode, we can listen to "Lazarus" by David Bowie whose song scored Tommy's woozy morphine-fuelled recovery.
- GoofsIt is 1922. In the beginning of the episode we see the beaten up Tom Shelby lying in a HALO vest. This is a device to stabilize the neck, usually for fractures, and the first use of it was not described until 1959. A few scenes later he is sitting on the bedside without the HALO vest but with a fresh scalp wound. Although not specifically stated it would be reasonable to assume that the skull operation took place on the same day as the admission to hospital and that the HALO vest was applied directly thereafter. A HALO vest is usually worn from 6 weeks to three months and certainly never for just a few days.
- Quotes
Thomas Shelby: Good morning, Mr. Solomons.
Alfie Solomons: Yeah, it is. Nice little place you got here, Thomas. What is it, a foreclosure of a gambling debt from some poor young lord who you pumped full of opium in one of your casinos, or is that just tittle-tattle?
Thomas Shelby: Drink?
Alfie Solomons: No, I don't touch it, mate. Your housekeeper said you're not allowed to drink. Eh? She said you're suffering from so many ancient injuries from your sporting life that your head is like some sort of smashed vase what has been stuck back together by an 'orse.
