Letzter Abend = One Last Evening.
Is a cool, fun, intriguing and sensitive drama with equal parts comedy and tragedy. Lisa and Clemens are moving to Berlin and decide to throw a party for friends and family at their apartment in Hannover. As they prepare for the party things start to not go according to plan and a gentle comedy of errors begins.
From missing friends to unexpected guests, the story unfolds as the characters share each others company, and we learn more about them with every conversation.
What transpires is funny, heartfelt, eccentric, bohemian and sad as the party goes on into the night. This film may make you smile, giggle and maybe cry all in equal measure.
The film is in German, with small bits of spoken English. I watched it with English subtitles, which was totally fine for me.
I really enjoyed One Last Evening. It's sweet! If you like art movies, ( like Before Sunrise, or The Big Chill ) or films that are like stage plays, I'm sure you'll enjoy it too! :-)
