A Lame UFO Story

Michael is ridiculed by friends and family after he sees a UFO while on a flight; the twins taunt David after winning Bruce Springsteen concert tickets.

UFO stories never seem to work well on sitcoms (see also THE BRADY BUNCH and MAUDE) and this one is no exception. Mike's poker buddies prank him by wearing alien and martian masks/attennae. Mrs. Poole has a funny scene that has her acting very patronizing toward Mike. She tells a story about her crazy uncle and does a Mork from Ork imitation.

Later Mike and Sandy attend a meeting of "believers" where one of the male members announces he is pregnant with an alien baby. Mrs. Thorne is played by the same actress who was the woman giving Roseanne and Jackie the tour of Bev's retirement home in the 1992 "Ladies Choice" episode of ROSEANNE. Her voice is instantly recognizable.
