***SPOILERS*** Hailed as the hero of Desert Storm, the 1991 Gulf War, in his hometown Let. Dale Stillman, Jay Mohr, spots three of his former army buddies Wally Jimmy & Sam, Ron Canada Chuma Hunter-Gault & Aaron Pearl, that he saved during the fighting there and makes a date to see them that evening at the local town tavern. At first being no shows at the bar the three ex-GI's suddenly appeared out of thin air to remind Dale just what a hero he really was. Something that Dale had been trying to keep hidden from himself since the war ended.
****SPOILER*** As we and Dale soon learn the selfless and heroic acts that he's been rewarded for were really the acts of a man who desperately tried to save his own neck at the expense of those he was in command of. Caught by an Iraqi patrol on his way to get help for his stranded and pinned down, by Iraqi machine gun fire, fellow GI's Dale gave away their positions in order to keep from being turned into a human torch by his captors. In fact it was a fellow US Amy captive who was roasted alive who refused to talk who should have gotten ,postououstly, all the honors that Dale did!
With the awful truth, the ghosts of Gulf War past, now staring him straight in the face Dale could only smile and rejoin those he left behind to die in the Kuwaiti Desert fully knowing that it's the right and only thing left for him to do. Found on Dale's body is a gold chain watch that he brought back from the war. That watch was the only thing that was left of the US soldier that was burned alive by the Iraqis who was held captive together with Dale. And mysteriously engraved on it are the words : To Let.Dale Stillman for "Uncomon Valor".
