Johan Macaraeg is a composer based in Los Angeles, CA and originally from Manila, Philippines. Johan has worked on numerous short and feature films which have been shown in film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Bristol Film Festival. He has also produced scores for projects based in the USA, UK, Canada, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Johan's music has also been recorded in renowned studios such as Silent Zoo Studios in Glendale, CA and the Warner Bros Eastwood Scoring Stage in Burbank, CA.
His musical training includes a Bachelor's Degree on Music Production that he received in the Philippines. He has also then studied composition and orchestration privately under numerous composers and in the summer of 2020, was chosen to be part of the NYU/BMI TV Scoring Workshop. As of 2023, he is finishing his Masters of Music in Screen Scoring in the prestigious USC Thornton's Masters Program where only 20 applicants are accepted every year.
Johan continues to write music for film, television and other forms of visual media and loves the art of story telling through music and collaboration involved in the filmmaking process.
