Mandon Lovett is an American filmmaker born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2009, while attending law school in Miami, he purchased a DSLR camera and quickly fell in love with filmmaking. Soon, he began creating short videos (event recaps, micro-budget music videos, weddings, and interviews) throughout Miami. Eventually, he made his way to longer-form storytelling with the viral Youtube documentary, "The Field: Chicago: Violence, Hip-Hop and Hope" (2013) that profiled the emerging drill music scene in Chicago.
In 2014, he returned to Los Angeles in further pursuit of his film career. Today, Mandon continues to document enigmatic, polarizing characters and stories across culture. Since 2021, he's directed on the IDA-award winning television series "Origins of Hip Hop" (A&E), produced Showtime's "Boys In Blue" (alongside Peter Berg) and directed on "Rap Caviar Presents" (Hulu). His debut feature documentary "French Montana: For Khadjia" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival (2023).
