Remember Frank Jr., Phoebe's oddball brother whose triplets she gives birth to (via surrogacy) so he can have a family with his high school teacher turned wife? This quirky character first makes an appearance in the fifth episode of Season 3 ("The One With Frank Jr."), but observant Friends viewers have noticed that the actor that plays him, Giovanni Ribisi, makes an appearance long before that.

In the sixth episode of Season 2 ("The One With The Baby On The Bus"), Phoebe is forced to play out in the street after the manager of Central Perk replaces her with a professional musician. One guy walking by accidentally drops a condom in her case, then comes back to retrieve it becomes it's "kind of an emergency." And look who it is?!

I know what you're thinking. He's playing Frank Jr., and the condom is meant to subtly foreshadow that he's her long-lost brother, or else make a point about how you never know who you'll run into on the street. But because it's the '90s, he's actually just playing an extra.

"He was an actor that was used by the executive producers before," Betsy Borns, one of the show's writers, told Refinery 29. "They liked him, so they decided to use him more because they liked working with him."

Because recycling actors is just one of those lovable '90s tropes that make people nostalgic today.
