What can I say....I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews. The light output is barely visible and also is way too blue. Like 8000k color temperature. If you want to turn your house into a riced out civic then these are the lights for you. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $ and buy the brand "TSUN" which I bought here on amazon. TSUN uses 6smd leds while this uses 3 inferior leds. Im attaching a comparison pic of these lights to the TSUN lights.

There must be a few variations of these things running around. Mine did NOT come in the "as seen on TV" package like shown in the ad. Mine came in a set of six in plain brown cheap cardboard. They are that very thin flexible plastic. It's weird, there are 2 battery compartments on the bottom and both have the little tabs you push to open to put in a AA battery. HOWEVER, only one of the two compartments on the ones we bought have a battery, and there are no contacts in the other compartment. So you could put another battery in it, but only for storage, not to power the light. You would NOT put in regular batteries anyway, as the charger would cause them to explode or melt chemicals in your yard. The rechargeable batteries that came with mine seem to work great. The lights last for at least 5 hours. I'm not up later than that, so I can't tell you exactly when they go out, but rechargeable AA batteries aren't expensive, and what do you want for a $5 light? LOL

I live in Florida, so we have lots of nice sunshine. I installed the lights at 9am, and I removed the protective coating from the solar panel. So they had time to charge all day. I know that might seem like a no-brainer, but just in case someone was wondering, you're supposed to remove it. A good first charge is highly recommended by me. I graduated from electronics school in the Army, so I know that the first charge is important. This could account for some of the other posts I'm reading by people who have had a bad experience.

One thing I'd also like to suggest is that you get a little piece of spongy or thick double-sided tape to install them. They will bend the inside of your gutter lip when you install them if you screw the locking clamp screw too tight. The tape will help make the hold without bending the gutter. Not that it would interfere with the operation of your gutter, just some advice.

There is also a set screw hole in the part that sticks down where the light comes from. I'm assuming you could add a globe or something else to this, but I haven't found any. I wouldn't recommend anything heavy and they look good without a globe, so no big deal.

I have had these for about 3 months now and these things are great! they are not going to light up your whole yard but they are easy to install, bright enough to see where you are going (I live in a rural area with zero lighting other than moon/stars). I have these installed on the path/driveway leading to the house and they are great. they do not attract a high amount of bugs (like a standard light bulb) and are mounted on gutters so if there are a few bugs around them, they will leave you alone and more importantly, not follow you into the house. we have also seen some pretty intense wind/rain events and they have remained in their mounted positions with no issues.I plan on ordering more for use around the back side of my house, shed, etc. Very impressed with the product and the price is great.

I debated giving these 2 stars, but they do actually work. They make more light than I expected after reading through some of the other reviews. The problem is, they're not only cheaply built, the look cheap. I installed two of the 6 on the back yard rain gutter. The bracket that attaches to the gutter is so cheap, both of the screws stripped out the metal they thread into. (There's no nut or even threads, just a hole drilled in the thin metal bracket that the screw threads into) I had to remove the screw and use a self tapper into the rain gutter to mount both of these. If I wouldn't have done that, they were both broken and useless. Its been a couple months now, and I still haven't installed the others. Not because I'm afraid of putting another screw into my rain gutter, but because I wanted the others in the front of the house, and these simply look too cheap to hang in plain view. If you don't mind putting holes in your rain gutters or hanging white plastic items that look like they came from the dollar store on your house, these things actually work pretty well. I thought about painting them to match my house. It might take away some of the dollar store look, but I haven't done it yet.

lights are solar and have great thought to how they hook up. Disappointed in the brightness, very dim. more light from cellular backlight on low brightness. Now hang them on the gutter 15 feet high, just small output. My guess is you need to order double and keep light spacing close to really shine. If you are looking for a little light to know what's is close, these will work.

These lights are easy to put up, give off a great light and i am going to buy more. I put them at the front of the house and it lights it up so nice. I am rural so there are absolutely no street lights or lights from neighbors and when it is dark, it is pitch black outside. These lights are great because i can see if anyone is at the door and the security camera can take a clear video if someone comes to the door. I recommend them highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good set of lights - just the right brightness for our needs
Reviewed in Canada on April 21, 2017
Bought these to give a bit of light to the front of our house. They work fine - not too bright but the LED light glow they give off does the job at making the house look brighter. They give off a spotlight glow to the ground underneath them typical of a bright solar LED light. Don't buy these with the intent of thinking they will replace a light fixture and light up your house very brightly - they won't. They will add a nice glow to the area you put them but that's about it. I was sceptical at first as the package arrived kind of beat up and the lights were individually boxed with some damage, but all 6 of the lights work great. The solar batteries were even included as I was thinking they weren't but they were. Install was easy enough as they went up on our gutter without any issues. My only complaint is that while they are secure and attached from the back - the units can lift up easily. Perhaps we will secure them with some wire and staple gun or some glue even if we feel they may get loose. They have only been up for a few days and not during a storm or anything as that will be the true test to see if they last. We plan on taking them down in winter as our harsh Canadian winter weather may blow them away. All in all, we may buy another box of these for our backyard but will wait a little longer to see how these ones do.
