Strong Card - TMS #592

Hello! It's time to start another revisited sketch from 2020 this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are playing with Patti's favorite sketch. It was originally posted on August 11, 2020 and it's one I designed. The first time around my card was girly, so this time I went masculine. This Strong Card features a piece of woodgrain paper to signify something strong along with the sentiment from Unity Stamps called Strong is your only choice. Some blue polka dot paper from my scrap bin was added along with the three circle elements and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! We would love for you to join us this week! For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. 😊

Wooden Father's Day Card

Hello! It's almost Father's Day and to make sure my dad's card arrived on time it needed to be mailed today. So, this afternoon I made this Wooden Father's Day Card and it went straight to the post office when finished. My dad has always worked with wood. He had a cabinet and door making business while I was growing up and he still does a few jobs when persuaded. I used to play around in his shop while he was working. There was always sawdust that need sweeping and when you're a kid it's fun to play in sawdust. This past week he worked on wooden centerpiece accents for my niece's wedding that turned out really nice. Hopefully he will like his Wooden Father's Day Card!

The patterned paper is from the retired Wood Texture paper by Stampin' Up! and the saw stamp is from the retired Stampin' Up! set called Nailed It. The Happy Father's Day sentiment is by Hero Arts and the polka dot paper is by Bo Bunny. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Floral Wedding Card

Hello! The next big event in our family is my oldest niece's wedding next week. This afternoon I made this Floral Wedding Card using the napkin design for her reception as the inspiration (photo below). I hope she likes it!

Most of the supplies used to make this Floral Wedding Card are retired by Stampin' Up!. The stamp set is called Climbing Roses and the coordinating dies are from the Rose Trellis die set. The image was colored with Copic markers and the sentiment was heat embossed with a pearl embossing powder by Stampendous!. The white panel was embossed with a leaf embossing folder and a little lace added to one edge for detail. The gold trellis, sentiment and roses were adhered flat and that's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Many Thanks Card - TMS #553

Welcome back to the start of a new sketch challenge today at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The sketch was designed by Melissa Craig and I had a lot of fun creating this Many Thanks Card. I took the opportunity to use a very neglected stamp set called Swirly Bird, it's now retired by Stampin' Up! and I had only used it once. The coordinating Swirly Scribbles die worked perfectly for the circle element of the sketch. We would love for you to join us this week! Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. I hope to see your entry in the gallery!

Challenges entered: Crafter's Castle (Anything Goes), The Crafter's Cafe (Anything Goes) and Use Your Stuff (Flowers and/or Butterflies).

Floral Congratulations Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Floral Congratulations Card I made this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have a reason to use it sometime soon. The Knock on Wood challenge at Simon Says stamp is what prompted the design. I used patterned paper from the Pretty Things paper pad by MME and Old Olive cardstock by Stampin' Up! for the matting. The flowers are from the Everything is Rosy stamp set by Stampin' Up! and were die cut with the coordinating dies. Ink colors include: So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Old Olive. The congratulations sentiment is from Impression Obsession and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fall Floral Thinking of You Card

Hello! There are many times in life that a Thinking of You Card is needed. This Fall Floral Thinking of You Card was made for my grandmother. She has dementia and the last month has been really rough for her. Yesterday I went through all of my cards and none of them were what I wanted to send, so I made this one special for her.💜

A couple of years ago I saw a card by Nancy Leedy and fell in love with the colors and floral arrangement. She used the Birthday Blooms stamp set with the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set both by Stampin' Up!. I would have never thought of combining the two stamp sets without seeing her card. It's taken me a couple of years to use the two together but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I have the perfect card for my grandmother. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Autumn Greetings Card - TMS #522

Hello and happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a sketch that could easily be a one layered card. To create this Autumn Greetings Card I decided to used a retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Fall Fest. I stamped several leaves directly onto a piece of woodgrain paper that was sprayed with white Dylusions ink. Then added a few die cuts before matting it to a piece of olive green cardstock. A few drops of Honey Gold Nuvo drops were added and that's it. The design team created a variety of inspiration using the sketch designed by Melissa Craig. Click HERE for all the details and inspiration. We would love for you to join the challenge this week! You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Caring Thoughts Card - TMS #495

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the start of a new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by Melissa Craig and it really is lovely. It took me awhile to decide which floral stamp set to use, but I finally decided on Fab Flowers by Lawn Fawn. We can't wait to see how you use this weeks sketch. You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. Click HERE for all the challenge details and wonderful design team inspiration.

Normally I love mixing patterned papers, but I couldn't come up with the right mix until I decided on the Wood Textures paper by Stampin' Up!. The paper has different shades that worked well with the sketch and it lets the flowers be the main focus. I really like how it turned out. The Caring Thoughts sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and it was just sitting on my craft desk waiting to be used. It's nice when things work out like that. Well, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Learn, Live, Hope Card

From the first time I saw the sneak peeks of the new Live the Life You Dream About Spirit Animal stamp set by Jessica Lynn Original, I knew I would be making my oldest niece a card with the cattle skull. The last time I was in her room I saw one she plans on painting to hang on her wall. One of her favorite colors is turquoise/aqua and although the color I used is lighter, I think she will love it.

Creating this card started with the color choices and finding the right patterned papers. The plaid is from the new Fall Perfectly Plaid paper by Lawn Fawn and the wood is from the Bella Rosa Collection by Bo Bunny. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. Everything else is pretty basic. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Vintage Leaves Sympathy Card

Today marks fifteen years since the attacks on 9/11 and eighteen years since my grandfather passed away. Although time has passed the heartache is still real for those who lost loved ones. In remembrance of this day I made this Vintage Leaves Sympathy Card.

To make this card I used the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary, CCMC423. All supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up! and at this time they are all still available. Here is the supply list:
  • Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Pool Party cardstock, along with the Serene Scenery designer series paper stack.
  • Stamps: Vintage Leaves and Flourishing Phrases.
  • Inks & Coloring: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, VersaMark and Copper embossing powder.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Brick Wall embossing folder, Flourish Thinlits, Heat Gun, Linen Thread and dimensionals.

You are in My Thoughts Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. The sun is nice and bright this morning and the birds are chirping. It looks like it's going to be a lovely day. Before my day gets busy I wanted to share this You are in My Thoughts Card. It was made for the following challenges:
The Color Throwdown challenge is to use Kraft, Green and Cream. It's a really calming color scheme and I thought it was perfect for a Thinking of You type card. It seems I can never have enough of these, they work well for many life situations. For this card I used the layout at Sketch Saturday and the keyword "Birds" from Just Us Girls. The green patterned paper is one of my favorites by October Afternoon and it was paired with a woodgrain pattern by Crate Paper. For the image I searched through all my options and found a bird from the Moon Lake stamp set by Stampin' Up! that I had never used. It was stamped using Timber Brown Staz On ink and colored with a blender pen and ink pads. The You are in My Thought sentiment is from Impression Obsession. To add a little more detail I used a scalloped stitched die by My Favorite Things and some linen thread by Stampin' Up! That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Watercolor Wings Sympathy Card

Hello! Last night I was playing around with the Watercolor Wings stamp set and I created this Sympathy Card. It features my favorite retiring patterned paper by Stampin' Up! called Pretty Petals. For the focal panel I stamped onto patterned paper and it really softened the ink colors. The leaves are from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and the sentiment is from a retired hostess set. I love angled panels and really enjoyed using this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday for the layout. When it came time to stamping the sentiment I debated about making it read straight or on the angle with the panel. I went with the angle because it fell in line with the polka dots. The finishing touch were three retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins for a little sparkle.

Go Confidently Card

Hello! I hope you're having a fabulous day. Here is my latest card made for the following challenges:

Tuesday Morning Sketches: Sketch
The Challenge: Colour
Penny's Paper-Crafty: Favorite Embellishment (twine)
Creative Knockouts: Use Your Stash

The Challenge at Always Playing with Paper is to use the colours: Coral, Navy and Kraft. I searched through my patterned papers and found four that I liked and cut them into 3/4" strips to accommodate the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I adhered them onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that was stamped using the Hardwood stamp. The sentiment stamp is one of my retired favorites from the Wordplay set by Stampin' Up!. The final touches were adding the twine and three sequins. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Sending Wishes Card

Hope you're having a great day! There isn't much going on around my house, I'm not complaining... I guess I like the quiet life. This morning I made this Sending Wishes Card using the Butterfly Basics stamp set by Stampin' Up! It's been in my stash for awhile but sadly this was it's first time to see ink. I paired it with a couple of my older but current favorites, the Flower Shop stamp set and Hardwood stamp. The color coral seems to be really popular right now, so I used Calypso Coral along with Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. I'm always scared to do layered stamping but I think it turned out pretty good. I appreciate you stopping by my blog and hope you come back soon.

Fall Tree Sympathy Card

Good afternoon! I hope your week is going well. Mine has been pretty calm and quiet. Earlier today I decided to play around with the Mojo Monday sketch and this Fall Tree Sympathy Card is what I created. I'm hoping I won't need it anytime soon but it can be hard to make a sympathy card when the time comes.

All supplies except the gold brads are by Stampin' Up! Here is the list:
  • Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Patterned paper from the Motley Monsters dsp (woodgrain) and retired Sweet Sorbet dsp.
  • Stamps: Lovely as a Tree and  retired Simply Sketched (sentiment).
  • Inks: Classic Stampin' Pad in Summer Starfruit and Sahara Sand and Stampin' Write Markers in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.
  • Other Stuff: Oval punch, scallop oval punch, paper snips, gold brads and stampin' dimensionals.

Hello Fall Card for The Paper Players

Howdy! It's Sunday again and time for another wonderful challenge from The Paper Players. This week Ann is hostess and has selected fall as the theme! Happy Fall Y'all! is the title and I am certainly ready for fall to arrive. My card has a little bit of everything in it. I've used brand new, current and retired Stampin' Up! products to create this Hello Fall Card. The last couple of weeks I've loved the negative space designs from the design team and participants, so I decided to create my own. I searched for colorful sunsets and found a lovely photo (see below) that inspired the focal image. To create the focal design I used watercolor paper and the current Lovely As a Tree stamp set. Using StazOn ink in Timber Brown I stamped the trees and then used my Aqua Painters and classic stampin' pads to add color. I decided to use the retired Natural Composition woodgrain paper to frame the image. To create the whitewash look, I used Craft Stampin' ink and sponged it all over the paper. Then using a cloth to wipe the ink from the glossy areas. The leaves were stamped using the retired Gently Falling stamp set, this set is one of my all time favorites. I used the rock-n-roll technique to give the leaves a shaded look. To finish the card I added the sentiment from the new For All Things stamp set, an antique brad and some natural jute twine. I really enjoyed making this card and I hope it helps inspire you to play along at The Paper Players fall theme challenge. I'm submitting my card at this weeks Leaves challenge at Just Us Girls.

The design team really went all out this week and have created some marvelous inspiration. Click here to check out their designs. You have until NOON (PST) on Friday, Sept. 12th to participate in the challenge. I hope to see your card in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Magnificent Maple Grateful Card

This evening I was reminded by my friend Jessi's card post that the deadline for the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World is midnight tonight. It worked out nicely because I really like the sketch at The Paper Players and I used it to make this Magnificent Maple Grateful Card. I've used a mixture of different patterned papers and they're all from different companies, My Mind's Eye (big woodgrain), American Crafts (light woodgrain), and K & Company (plaid). The Truly Grateful sentiment stamp and the Magnificent Maple stamp are both by Stampin' Up! Before I stamped the maple leaf, I sponged Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I inked the maple stamp with Cajun Craze and stamped onto the sponged cardstock. Then I fussy cut the maple leaf and adhered it to a 2.5" circle. The accent banners are made from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the final touch were three Old Olive Candy Dots. I'm also linking this card to the Anything Goes challenge at Make It Monday. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Wonderfall Grateful Card

Here in the United States we have seventeen days until the first day of Autumn. I'm ready for the fall colors and cooler temperatures to arrive. The Paper Players have a fall themed challenge this week and time to play along is almost gone. So this evening I made this Wonderfall Grateful Card. I combined retired and new products by Stampin' Up! in my card. The colors are:
  • Crushed Curry
  • Early Espresso
  • Old Olive
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Whisper White
When I came up with the layout I knew I'd have to make this card a little larger. The finished size is 6.25" x 4.5" to accommodate the 4" woodgrain circle. I fussy-cut the leaves and adhered them along with the sentiment banner to the circle with dimensionals. I really like the Old Olive with the Crushed Curry and the woodgrain embossing folder is one of my seasonal favorites. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic evening and pleasant tomorrow!

My Wonderfall Grateful Card is entered into the following challenges:

Wonderfall Grateful Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White and More Mustard card stock (I thought I picked up Pumpkin Pie card stock and it wasn't until I had everything together that I realized I used More Mustard, geez!), Sandable Early Espresso card stock, Sweater Weather dsp, and retired Old Olive dsp.
  • Stamps: Wonderfall stamp set and Truly Grateful stamp set.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, woodgrain embossing folder, Adorning Accents Edgelit, Antique Brads and stampin' dimensionals.
All supplies by Stampin' Up!.

Noble Deer Birthday Card

The challenge at Shopping Our Stash this week is to make a card for a boy/guy. That works out perfectly for me, one of my male cousins has a birthday coming up. He is a true country boy and the retired Noble Deer stamp by Stampin' Up! made the perfect image for his card. The layout comes from the Monday Lunchtime Sketch from Technostamper. I used a woodgrain embossing folder with Early Espresso sandable card stock. I love the look of sanded card stock and for this Noble Deer Birthday Card it gives it a nice rugged feel. The patterned paper is from the Hooked on Fishing collection by The Paper Loft. The sentiment stamp is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the jute twine is by American Crafts. Thanks for stopping by!

Truly Grateful Card

In case you haven't looked at the calendar, there is five weeks left until the beginning of Autumn. I don't know about you but I'm ready for Autumn to arrive. I LOVE the rich colors of the turning leaves and the crisp Autumn air.

Today I played with a couple of my new stamps and created this Truly Grateful Card. Before placing my last order I debated about buying the Magnificent Maple stamp because I have a ton of leaf stamps already, but I'm really glad I did. It's a wonderful size and it stamps beautifully.

This card was made with NO special tools. All I used was Stamps, Ink and Paper to participate at 'ABC' Challenges. When I first starting making cards I didn't have a lot of tools to use. This challenge took me back to the basics. The Natural Composition background paper has a woodgrain glossy finish and I sponged on whisper white craft ink to give it a whitewash finish. The other colors are: Early Espresso, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. The sentiment and acorn are from the new Truly Grateful stamp set from the Holiday Stampin' Up! catalog. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!
