FIGO appoints Frances Longley as new CEO


FIGO is excited to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Frances Longley!

Bringing with her more than 25 years of leadership and governance experience in domestic and international charities, Frances will join FIGO in July 2023.

Global call for accelerated action and investment in quality midwifery care


At the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference, FIGO joined partners to call upon UN Member States to accelerate action and investment in quality midwifery care. The call followed a renewal of commitments from FIGO and global partners in midwifery to support, strengthen and promote midwifery models of care. 

Health leaders pledge to reduce the burden of preterm birth


Alongside the publication of the "Born Too Soon: Decade of Action on preterm birth" report, FIGO and the members of the PMNCH Health-Care Professional Associations (HCPA) constituency have issued a joint statement committing to work to take action to reduce the burden of preterm birth in the coming decade.

For the International Day to End Obstretric Fistula, FIGO joined the global community to raise awareness about the condition and generate support for affected women.

FIGO was pleased to share that the FIGO Fistula Surgery Training Manual (2022) is now available in English, French and Portuguese.
