Toronto-based prodco Guru Studio has signed new broadcast deals for the first two seasons of its flagship preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom.

Globosat Gloob (Brazil), Discovery Frisbee (Italy), RTS (Switzerland), DR Ramasjang (Denmark), E-Junior (UAE), Star Channel (Greece), TVB (Hong Kong) and HOP (Israel) all picked up the comedy adventure series. No details have been released for when the show will launch on these networks.

True and the Rainbow Kingdom premiered globally on Netflix in 2017 and the first two seasons of the show were picked up by CBC Kids (Canada) last year. It is produced by Guru Studio in collaboration with Pharrell Williams’ i Am Other label, as well as fine art collective FriendsWithYou and animation studio Home Plate Entertainment.

The prodco is producing a fourth season made up of seasonal specials, music videos, full episodes and comedic shorts launching  on Netflix in 2019 and 2020.

The animated series follows fearless heroine True and her best friend Bartleby the cat as they protect Rainbow City’s whimsical citizens. Guru has been busy building the global presence of the IP in the last year including in November when Guru appointed Chinese distributor Hengxin Shambala Kids to represent the brand in China. The prodco also teamed up with Aurora World to develop a range of plush toys inspired by the preschool series, last September.
