Beth Hunt

Beth Hunt is an evening anchor for KATV. She anchors Channel 7 News at 6 and 10. Beth joined Channel 7 as a General Assignment Reporter in November 2002.

An Arkansas native, Beth grew up in the small town of Carlisle, and was a 1995 graduate of Carlisle High School. From there, she set out for Jonesboro, where she earned a degree in Radio-Television from Arkansas State University. After attending graduate school there as well, Beth decided to jump right into television. She worked behind the scenes at Channel 7 for a few months, then took her first reporting job in Fort Smith/Fayetteville. Ten months later, Beth returned to central Arkansas and her Channel 7 family.

Beth has covered it all--from the Space Shuttle Colombia disaster and the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, to the hype surrounding the first Razorback games of the year. She followed Gen. Wesley Clark on the campaign trail to Iowa and beyond as he sought the Democratic nomination for President in 2004. Beth has anchored live shows from Heifer International, Riverfest, Toadsuck...and just about every other major festival or event in the state. She's also taken viewers behind the scenes of Good Morning America in New York City...with in-depth interviews with Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson and Robin Roberts.

Beth has won several awards. She is part of the anchor team that won an Emmy for Best Newscast and has won Associated Press awards for her news reporting. Beth has also been honored multiple times as Best of Arkansas in the category of "Best TV News Person" by the readers of the Arkansas Times, most recently in 2014.

In 2010 Beth was appointed by Governor Mike Beebe to serve on the AR Governor's Council on Fitness. She also donates her time and talents to various charities, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the American Heart Association.

In her spare time, Beth enjoys working out, shopping, going to the lake and spending time with family and friends.
