I grew up in 1980s conservative evangelical Christian culture.

That culture was harmful in many ways (and, sadly, has gotten even worse), but it gave me a deep fascination with the Bible. While no longer a person of faith, for many years I created art based on the Bible’s crazy, beautiful and violent themes and stories. My art is often a critique or an expression of frustration with current evangelical culture. Below are several of my Bible based projects.

A sell-initiated project exploring the white evangelical support of Trump

81% of white evangelicals voted for a man with a clear history of white supremacist actions and rhetoric. Sadly, this fits within a history of racism in the white evangelical church, including the defense of slavery and Jim Crow laws as well as countless other acts of violence and oppression towards people of color.
