Crime Victims’ Compensation and Assistance

Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB): A remedial body designed to provide aid and assistance to victims of crime in Maryland.

Walk-in: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Effective November 9, 2022, the CICB will be closed to the public on Wednesdays. Wednesdays will be deemed as an Administrative Hearing Day. The agency reviews claims and conducts hearings for crime victims on Wednesdays.

Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center (MCVRC): A statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the interests of crime victims in Maryland.

Roper Victim Assistance Academy of Maryland (RVAAM): A 40-hour, academically-based education and training program that covers a broad array of topics in victimology, victim’s rights and services and victim advocacy throughout the criminal and juvenile processes.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA): The statewide collective agency that advocates for compassionate, accessible care for survivors of sexual crimes and accountability for all offenders.

Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNDAV): The state domestic violence coalition that brings together victim service providers, allied professionals, and concerned individuals for the common purpose of reducing intimate partner and family violence and its harmful effects on our citizens.

Maryland Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program (ACP): The goal of the program is to help those individuals, who have relocated or are about to relocate, in an effort to keep their perpetrators from finding them.

Identity Theft

Identity Theft: The Attorney General’s Identity Theft Unit has tools available to help victims of identity theft address their problems, and to help all consumers protect themselves from identity thieves.
