Taking place on the campus of the University of California in Los Angeles, hip-hop mogul, actor and Dope film producer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested just after noon today on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Combs was visiting the UCLA campus because his son, Justin Combs, is currently attending the school as well as playing on the UCLA Bruins football team as a defensive back. According to ESPN, the weapon in question was identified as a kettlebell, which is a large hand weight that’s used in strength training.

The victim of the assault hasn’t been officially identified, but TMZ claims that Combs allegedly assaulted UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Further details allege that Alosi was screaming at Justin during practice which led Sean Combs to confront the coach in his office.

Tempers flared and the assault allegedly took place after Alosi threatened to call the police. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured during the incident, but Combs was taken into custody shortly after. Combs was being held in a campus patrol car before police took him to Los Angeles County jail and set his bail at $160,000.

Speaking about the unfortunate incident, UCLA football coach Jim Mora said “I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.

Representatives for the Combs organization haven’t released an official comment about the incident. According to sources at the school, it’s not uncommon for Combs to attend practices to watch his son play. Of course, it’s unlikely that Combs will be allowed back on the UCLA campus to watch his son practice if the details of the assault turn out to be true.
