Audience Says

It isn't as creative as Pixar's best movies, but Luca lives up to the studio's standards for beautiful animation while telling a sweet fish-out-of-water story the whole family will enjoy.

Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald It's full of energy and the diligence of those researchers has paid off in its settings which are seductive -- and even more important -- believable. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 30, 2021 Full Review Max Weiss Baltimore Magazine Luca is a sweet, gentle, sun-kissed film, with gentle rhythms and a generous spirit. Rated: 3/4 Jun 25, 2021 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review This movie takes joy in the everyday things...wonderful moments. Jun 23, 2021 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net In the end, LUCA is lovely, but slight, and has the potential for so much more. Visually it is gorgeous beyond belief, and... evokes the spiritual transcendence of Studio Ghibli. It doesn’t strive for much more than that, and sometimes that’s fine. Rated: 3/5 Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Jillian Chilingerian Offscreen With Jillian Although this is a Pixar film it is not a Pixar film. Aug 22, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online It was a small, sweet and enjoyable effort from Pixar, which has not only taught us that it's okay to be different from the rest but the importance of it. Marc M I loved the story, the characters, the look, the music and the cool references to Italian cinema in the 50s in "Luca". You don't have to be Italian to love this movie but it doesn't hurt! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/25/21 Full Review MP Great movie, me and my 6 year old had a great time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/23/21 Full Review Audience Member This film doesn't meet my standards in ever almost, but this film I would rate no stars (0%) but half star will represent 0% Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/14/24 Full Review Dale R Two sea monsters run away and attempt to acclimate to human life in a small Italian town, in a bid to buy a motor scooter. Pixar and Disney have mastered water animation at this point and they are just flexing that point home by having water as a main feature in every movie. There is plenty of Italian culture on display here, but I could have used more. The story is well told and the characters likable, but I don’t think this film will be remembered in an impactful way. A good film that is worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Sergei F Sweet movie that my family really enjoyed. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review Ryan H I like that there isn’t a big twist villain, it is just a guy with a big ego. The story is great definitely worth the watch.
