PETER PAN - NEVERLAND!

A real treat today - digitally reconstructed background art from Disney's PETER PAN!

This artwork is a visual feast - and screams the influence of May Blair. These gorgeous backgrounds predate JUNGLE BOOK by a decade but the design influence is unmistakeable.

Feast your eyes on these!!!

this shot starts with a suspicious looking rock (cel overlay)
then zooms out as the hippo rises from the water!
Here is the background with cel characters digitally erased...
Savor the nuance and subtlety of this piece
Here is the pan B/G from the FOLLOWING THE LEADER sequence
the boys remain steadfast little soldiers on the left!
So you might enjoy a closer look - here below are left and right sections.

Gorgeous stuff, eh?

PETER PAN

Here are the three opening shots from PETER PAN. Pan backgrounds one and two, now re-created, are incredibly atmospheric. The clouds in both were animated in the forefront via the multiplane camera. The third piece is an aerial view of the Darling house and neighborhood.
