Cheetahs and the Times That They Hunt

Cheetahs are interesting animals because they are different than many of the other large cats that exist on the planet. For example, the cheetah will hunt during the daytime, whereas most of the other species of large cats will prefer to hunt during the night. This does not mean that cheetahs will not hunt throughout the night, though they prefer to do their hunting early in the morning or the evening. If the moon casts plenty of light over the savannah, then the cheetahs will hunt during the night. They typically hunt antelope that they find in the areas where they live.

Physical Attributes of the Cheetah

When it comes to the physical attributes of cheetahs, you will notice that these large cats are built for speed. This is the fastest mammal on the planet. The cheetah is built with most of its attributes being long, slim, and muscular. Its legs are what help for this animal to be able to run as quickly as it does. However, even though the cheetah is built to run fast, it is unable to run its fastest for long distances. This is because if it tries to go a long distance at 70 miles per hour, the cat will overheat. This is much like running your car as fast as it will go for a long period of time.
