Monalisa Chinda is a Nigerian actress. She was born on the 13th of September in Ikwerre River State, Southern region of Nigeria. She is the first born in a family of 4 daughters and 2 sons. She had her primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, and also studied Theater Arts at the University of Port Harcourt. She began her professional movie career in 1996 when she was featured in "Pregnant Virgin".
Monalisa was married to Segun Dejo Richards and their marriage crashed few years after their wedding. The couple have one daughter together, her name is Tamar - Lily and she is living with her mother Monalisa.
Monalisa Chinda is the founder of Arise Monalisa Foundation (AMF) which is aimed at reaching out to the less-privileged and special people in the society. She is also a Globacom and UN Ambassador.
Monalisa Chinda has received several awards for her roles in several movies, including 2011 ZAFAA Awards for the Best Actress in Comedy Series, and City People Face of Nollywood Award, 2011.
