Like Mimmos, Solare in Liberty Station has a cozy wine room.  Old Venice and Godfather are two oldies but goodies.

Don't do it. Go the day before or the day after. Take it from someone in the biz. Vday is the worst holiday of the year to be dining out. If you don't decide to take my advice make your reservations now! And be prepared to wait. Your server will be exhausted and most likely a lil irritable from people who have no concept of what dining out means. Also, please tip your server accordingly.

Thanks Cara for the heads up! I was thinking of doing a lunch valentines date. Maybe then it won't be that pack. But yes I plan to make my reservations tommarow. Was hoping to get some good ideas today from the Yelpers. And yes I like tipping good.

+1 Cara. Do the romantic gestures, like cards, flowers, or roofies, but Valentines day is trouble for overbooked and understaffed places for a date. Hope the date goes well!

I'll throw Caffe Bella Italia in the hat of choices.

Luce is so loud when it's busy (which is always). Definitely not an intimate date spot. Also, be prepared to share your table with strangers. Not my idea of romantic but what do I know?

Baci is quieter and more intimate. But I wouldn't be surprised if they are fully booked for vday already. The early bird gets the worm.
