Christopher’s 5-star review: This place is fantastic. I wish I ate fish just for this meal. The Spicy Eggplant Clay Pot was truly Cooked Crack. I could have filled a bathtub with and eaten it until I died. Outrageous! Sezchuan Style Silken Tofu with Hot Spicy Sauce was divine. The King Poa Bean Curd, that they have a review on their website was just okay. Maybe because I ate it after the Cooked Eggplant Crack. I give this place 6 stars. -
Christopher’s 5-star review: I thought I reviewed this place before? Does Yelp take reviews down for character assassinations? I am sure I was cruel to some other reviewer as I will be here. I just can't believe how people can go to a place, knowing what to expect and then complain when it is just as they were told. Look it seems to me that this guy "Tony" could give a damn about your weak yuppie unrefined pallets. I am assuming he could give a damn about your frat boy boyfriend who was upset because there was no cheese in the crust and no marinara dipping sauces. Oh my god : there was nothing on the walls??? All we could do was sit and wait while we drank our beer.... Jeez isn't that the fun part of going out and hangin'? to just sit and drink and chat? Anyway, I grew up in New York and I am no monster pizza guy, but I think Tony is doing everything right. If you go say "hi" to the guy you will find out he is cool. You know your gonna wait for a table, you know you are gonna wait for a pizza.... so why complain? I am so happy that you guys gave it 1 star and won't go back, because I don't want to have to share space with you when I go. The pizza is fantastic! The service was aloof yet attentive, and that is just what I expected. The star here is the food. Please go to the Marina for your pizza... you will feel better and so will I. Tony: I say welcome to San Francisco and thank you for coming. Your place is great, your food is great, and who cares about these idiots that don't "get it"! Lastly: some of us don't like to have our asses kissed by staff or owners. Some of us don't like overly friendly "feel like your gettin' worked" staff. Some of us just want to go out and eat good stuff. If I need some help I will ask for it. By the way: I have been 3 times and never waited for a table more then 10 minutes. Once it took 25 minutes to get my pizza. Okay Rant over! -
Christopher’s 5-star review: Well I am so happy to find this place. Just fabulous. I guess it is the same guys who own Cafe Gratitude. Wonderful. I had the Mole. Vegan Mexican, I am as happy as a pig (who will not be slaughtered) in shit! Walking distance from my house... I can't wait to work my way through the entire menu. -

Christopher’s 5-star review: I read some really weird reviews of this place. My opinion: Look, don't go there if you are looking for some car salesman type guy to loom over your shoulder trying to peg you to purchase something you don't want. Do go there if you want to browse some of the coolest vintage Guitars and Amps. If you have a question these guys will bend over backwards to answer. If you don't ask for help they won't even notice you are in the store. Get it? They don't even say hi sometimes. However, that is what we like. I just want to look around...myself. Leave me alone... If I need help I will ask. I LIKE THAT!!!! You will find that these guys are absolute experts in vintage guitars and amps. You also may get to see some heavy hitters hanging around when you are in there. -
Christopher’s 5-star review: Being vegan I must say I always am happy to eat at Cha-Ya. The chef takes allot of care in preparing each dish. The dishes are creative and the flavor combinations are fabulous. One of the ways to judge a vegan eatery is to take non vegans there and see if they can stand it. This place definitely crosses that bridge. The food is great! The staff is awesome. The place is spotless. Side note. What a joke some people are in the reviews they write. A guy gave this place 1 star ...i read his review and it seems that the only reason for it is because he likes sushi? He hates vegans? Hates vegetarians? I have eaten here 5 times and every time the food was great. Bring cash cause they don't take credit. -
Christopher’s 4-star review: Well what can I say. My first experience with a so called pop-up. The place is located in the back of a North Beach kinda yuppyish bar. Walk up and place order. I am not sure if there is table service or not. It was not clear. I guess the waiter was working for the bar. She was pretty loaded. However, the garlic noodles were FANTASTIC! The Red Miso Ramen was a little less so. My friend had the pig belly bowl, ... i don't think that is what they call it. He said it was great. My other friends had the fried chicken. Seemed to get a good review. All in all... I would go back for a bowl of that spicy garlic noodles.... -
