The Laundry

For those of us who have been around for a while, The Laundry used to actually be a laundromat!

Fun fact.

Ok enough trivia.

The Laundry is attached to Hosfrau Haven - a great little wine store right here in German Village. Replacing the old laundromat is a fun, upscale, but still casual wine bar (yes they have a few beers too) with just enough seating to hold a few guests on a beautiful Friday night.

The hosts are great, and I believe (you'll have to double check) you can buy a bottle next door and bring it over and have a glass or two.

One thing that's really great about this location is that it's attached to Hosfrau Haven. A great place to take a date where you can walk around, find some nice wine, and then stop by the bar to enjoy a drink.

I'd definitely recommend stopping by before or after dinner plans at Lindey's, Chapman's, Barcelona, Agni, or other great spots in the village. You will probably run in to some locals.

Why 4 instead of 5 stars? No reason in particular. I try to save my 5 stars for "wow this blew my socks off". Happy to go by here anytime and definitely recommend it.

It's a contemporary, yet cozy little hot spot that proves to be an excellent location for meeting friends at the end of the work week.

In observance of a German Village Good Neighbor agreement, they are only open Thursday-Saturday, 4-9 pm.

The service is wonderful and pretty kick back. Time flies. It'd be easy to spend a couple hours.

The small plates are a nice accompaniment to your favourite glass of vino. I had to avoid the Wasabi peas and the Marcona almonds, but, did major damage to a small charcuterie board.

Tip: Enjoy happy hour wines or buy a bottle from their wine store (Hosfrau Haven) and enjoy it here. What you don't finish, take home.

This bar is a hidden gem! It's Small, intimate and very welcoming. The decor is trendy comfortable.

We had a charcuterie board which was excellent and sampled some of their custom cocktails. The service was first class.

They have a smaller wine by the glass selection but you can pick out a bottle from the attached wine shop and take it with you if you don't finish it. And the shop has a huge selection of wines that you don't usually find in stores.

The attached wine shop is the largest boutique wine shop in the city!

They change their menus every two months. What a great way to keep things fresh and interesting!

Stopped in to try a beverage. Lovely place. Bartender was friendly and the beverage was delicious.
