Facing East Noodle & Bar is a mix of Japanese fusion, offering of several kinds of dumplings ranging from pork to vegan. Well known for our ramen varieties each having its unique taste of creamy tonkatsu broth. Also Japanese draft beer is a must when you come to Facing East, cheers!

Facing East did what it needed to do! Ordering was somewhat easy. I do like how you can order it thru an app, however the app was a little extra.
Vegetarian ramen was full of flavor. The vegan gyoza was great. I am definitely planning on returning to try more things from their menu. I liked their menu selection, and they have a wide variety of things that seem delicious!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lourdes M.San Diego, CA02Oct 8, 2024
Food is great and so does the service .
Well they just gave us the food that we ordered :(
I just don't like the idea of paying first and asking for gratuity of 18 % .
I haven't even served yet so why pay gratuity. Gratuity is base it off their service and why pay they just gave us our food ??
So we are being charge now for it plus tax .
Why don't they just add it up on the food !!
Food is great we will pay but not 18% .
I'm sorry :(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 30, 2024
Facing East offers a unique dining experience, but it's wild to say that the standout dishes aren't even Chinese. The ramen here is the star of the show--definitely the dish to order! I also tried the kimchi, which was okay, and the spicy wontons, which leaned on the sweet side. Everyone's palate is different, so it might be a hit for others.
Overall, while some dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me, I would definitely come back for the ramen. It's worth a visit if you're craving a comforting bowl of noodles!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 20, 2024
Stumbled upon this place in Convoy and like most places in Convoy, the food was incredible
Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and so delicious. My favorite by far was the spicy pork dumplings, the sauce they came in was the perfect mix of tangy, spicy and a hint of sweet. The spicy beef noodle soup was also good but the primary flavor was Szechuan, which is not my favorite, the chicken XLB was delicious though, especially dipped in the spicy dumpling sauce. So many layers of flavor with every dish!
Can't say much about the service since we ordered and paid on my phone, but the food came out fast and the place was small but nice on the inside.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 28, 2024Updated review
Ordered to go and they overfill the tea we ordered with all ice..not getting much tea if you order so be aware! Also they don't honor the check in offers despite it being in their yelp

Came in on a Saturday, right when they opened and we were seated right away. I like that they have a call button at the table so you can press the button if you need a waiter.
What we got:
- Spicy garlic wings: one of my favorites, it was garlicky, had the right amount of kick to it, and was crispy!
- Ramen: I can't remember which we got, but I remember liking the broth.
- Animal buns: these were so good! My niece ate so many of them lol. We had a little mess up with the animal buns, but I really appreciate that they were quick to rectify the situation.
- Spicy shrimp wontons: the sauce was so good, the wontons were great as well.
I hear it can get busy here, but there's a good amount of seating and I do like the decor they have around the restaurant -- from paper cranes to take out containers. This place is good, and I'd go back again to try other menu items and reorder some of the ones I already tried.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 13, 2024
Came for the soup dumpling and we weren't disappointed. We ordered the pork, chicken and rainbow soup dumplings. My fave was the pork, really just a texture preference. My bf is an equal opportunity dumpling eater so he wouldn't pick a favorite.
We also shared the spicy miso ramen and prime tenderloin skewers. I really liked the ramen broth it was very porky and the egg was perfectly soft boiled. Sorry forgot to take a pic of the ramen. Also ordered kimchi that was really good!
The only things I didnt care for were the pork chashu in the ramen (not very tender) and the skewers they were quite tough.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
