Can we order from both the pre-fix menu and the tasting menu?

      A:

If you order from the tasting menu, the whole party needs to participate. Honestly, just order from the pre-fix, it's a better experience.

      A:

It's here: https://www.danielnyc.com/cuisine/boulud-sur-mer We ate outside and prices were a la carte.

Gastronomic Nirvana is at 60 E 65th street! Daniel Boulud's flagship will take you on an absolutely sublime culinary journey, second to none.
I had dined here before, for an intimate dinner for two, however this time we were a party of 13 with one of our cherished clients. All I can say is Daniel delivered as you would expect, superlative service, dishes where the ingredients harmoniously blended where each dish was equivalent to the next in unforgettable taste and presentation. Each featured on custom selected China and vehicles that tied to the dish in thematic balance. Our courses were bookended with an amuse bouche that was unexpected in its sheer depth and variety and finished with an assortment of unique chocolates and truffles along with a bag of petit beignets and lastly a beautifully packaged Cannelle for the road.
Service was synchronized, warm, attentive to each individual's need without being encroaching a true waltz and never a prolonged wait between courses. Our sommelier was spectacular!
Do be sure to adhere to the dress code as it is taken extremely seriously as we learned when one of our party members arrived in her designer sandals by mistake and was addressed by the hostess upon arrival and again at departure (a bit much).
      Nonetheless, Two words: Simply Outstanding!

My wife and I were happy to return to Daniel for the Spring menu. On this visit we were seated in the upper lounge - a quieter, smaller spot overlooking the bar. The lounge provides a comfortable spot that affords more privacy and easier conversation. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, the lounge was perfect. Also perfect was the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service provided by Pascal and Serenity - both of whom enhanced the experience with their clear focus on our comfort and enjoyment. Kudos to Pascal and Serenity.
A nice touch was the visits we received from some of our past servers just to say hello. Every element of Daniel is designed to make us feel at home, as we are among friends who offer a great experience. Few restaurants in NY offer this level of doubting our comfort.
While sitting in the lounge offers one the opportunity for ordering alle carte, we opted to explore the 5-course tasting menu. My wife added a sixth - the outstanding duck consume.
Starting with beautifully prepared amuse bouche of little delicious canapés, each a work of art. With each successive dish our amazement at the beauty of the preparation and the perfection of the preparation increased.
We very much look forward to returning.
Thank you Pascal and Serenity and Chef Boulud for another beautiful experience.

Amazing service but at the end of the day taste is king

Without a doubt, this place is one of the fanciest places I've been to. The modern decor, soft couches, and the attention to all details of service. We went for the 5 course meal option, which included 4 courses and dessert. Each category had 3 options (except for the dessert which had 4 options) so we were able to sample most of the menu between the two of us. They had a wide ranging selection from oxtail, lobster, various fresh fish, steak, lamb. All of the meat was well seasoned and well cooked. I did feel like while the food was tasty, it lacked the wow factor in terms of taste that I expect for a restaurant of this stature. The service was amazing however - unlimited freshly baked bread (baguette and brioche were my favs) and they even provide an extra appetizer and extra round of desserts for free. Def a large enough quantity of food to satisfy and then some.

PSA: technically you can order a la carte but you don't really save all that much money so probably better off going for the 5 course option

We celebrated our 5th anniversary here and will remember this for a lifetime. They gave us a personalized menu as a memento to take home!! The special touches throughout the night were very well done.

The service is incredible from the moment you walk in until you leave. The venue is beautiful and larger than expected when looking at it from outside. They have flowers and cool paintings everywhere. Talk about setting the mood!

We opted for the dinner and wine pairing, 7 courses. The food was incredible, rich, and artistic. The wines were well paired and uniquely from a variety of areas.

I have wanted to go to this restaurant for at least 15 years and finally made it. It was worth the wait!

Friendly and welcoming staff, a nicely laid out restaurant and fantastic food. For any other restaurant, any of these factors would be a nice bonus but, for Daniel's reputation these factors were expected and they did not miss the mark. Each dish was fantastic and explained in depth as it was served. The wait staff were highly knowledgeable about the meal options and beverage pairings.

What really set Daniel apart though, was the experience that the staff created. The presentation of each dish was carefully laid out and presented in an almost choreographed way. Additionally, their attention to detail was almost predictive of our needs. I have never had a dining experience like my experience at Daniel.

I highly recommend visiting Daniel especially if you are trying to make an evening, "a night to remember".

Service and ambiance were on point in my opinion.

The culinary experience was however not all hits and I found it to be a cumulative 3 stars for me. For example, I really enjoyed the parsnip-celeriac veloute, but found their rendition of foie gras gelatinous and unimpressive. Furthermore, the bison seemed to have been sitting under a lamp for too long and was cooked more than medium. I felt the remaining dishes were well executed.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Daniel's has long been one of the best restaurants in New York and the United States. From the service to the food itself, it is no exaggeration to say that this restaurant has done everything to perfection. You can only come to the restaurant to spend money and you are guaranteed to be served amazing food.

I went here for a business dinner and it was overall a phenomenal experience. Reservations are fairly easy to get in comparison to other 2 Michelin star restaurants, so that was a big plus especially for those that do not want to plan around a meal months in advance. We both got the tasting menu and shared 1 of the higher tier wine pairing, featuring vintages (two of which are of the year 2000), a great upgrade for a not-too-big price differential to the base tier wine pairing.

I unfortunately, somehow, did not take a picture of the menu, but there were a few dishes that were memorable, like the abalone dish that had a puree in the abalone shell, along with the abalone itself, and the duck dish that had the right texture with not too much fat, which somewhat resembled an Asian inspired dish. The chocolate biscuits, particularly the passionfruit one, where they serve hors d'oeuvres style were also very good. It helped contrast with the numerous sweet desserts offered. There was a lot of food, and if you are not too full, the bread service that come around to your table 3-4 times throughout the course, where you can choose any amount of pieces you want, will fill you up. I tried all 4 and liked the cheese bread and multigrain the most, but I ate a small fraction of it to ensure I am not too full for the actual courses (but I was very stuffed at the end!)

Service is excellent as they refill water frequently and clean out bread crumbs in between courses. When you go to the restroom, they fold the napkin for you. One occasion, my friend took a bit longer in the restroom and they put a metal cover on top of the dish so that the temperature and freshness of the dish is preserved.

Having been to a few Michelin stars restaurants, Daniel was definitely amongst the top.

Service was immaculate with very detailed attention. Beautiful venue, very nicely laid out tables, though a little too noisy with the echoing sound of diners...

The 9 course Chef's tasting menu was divine, every single dish was delicious, with the exception of the Scallops, which I found a little bland.

5 stars over all. I definitely return the next time I visit NYC.

It's been almost a decade since I've been to a 2 Michelin star restaurant, so I was excited to have the dinner. The food was good and the service impeccable (despite us not fully understanding what our waiters were telling us, but that's more on us for not understanding the accent), but there wasn't really anything that memorable when it came to the food.

Each of the dishes were tasty, but I wouldn't come back since I didn't think it was worth the price. We did the 7 course tasting menu, and what I enjoyed the most was actually the butter that's imported from Brittany. You did get full despite each dish looking very small, so don't be deceived - all of us were struggling to finish the dish even by the 4th/5th one. They also give you more dessert items after the one you pick.

They printed out the menu with the wine selections, even without us asking. Again, impeccable service.
