Ambiance is really nice and the food was delicious I got the bbq tacos and the beef empanadas. They were both really good I'd definitely recommend. The staff are really friendly and attentive. It's a very nice atmosphere this is a great spot and would be a very nice evening date spot.

We enjoyed the ambiance of Canave as well as the food. There was ample indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the beef empanadas (which normally come as an appetizer) as a main and the BBQ short rib tacos. After trying the empanada, I sort of wished I'd ordered that, too, because it was very good, but my tacos were not bad either.
Glad we found this spot while in the neighborhood!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 02161Jan 5, 2024
I went here for happy hour. The bbq short ribs are delicious. I also had coconut margaritas which was so good. The food is delicious and serve is great.

The service it very attentive and food scrumptious, the flavors are so fragrant and made like cooking at home the drinks are authentic and have a real original taste to the Caribbean I really enjoyed my experience and nice to find good spot in my neighborhood and music is reasonably and you can hear yourself and talk to others without screaming

My friend and I stumbled upon this place after visiting The Met Cloisters for a late lunch. He had the flautas, I had the tacos al pastor, and we split the nachos con queso (with sour cream, jalapeños, and pico de gallo on the side). The tacos were very tasty, and the nachos were amazing! I love that they use shredded cheese on the nachos instead of liquid cheese sauce. The place was really cute and the service was good! I would definitely come back. The only thing I didn't like was that they automatically included a 20% gratuity even though it was only two of us.

Fabulous post museum lunch. Cold beer and creative cuisine. Latin American - a mix of Caribbean and Mexican flavors. Great green plantains croquetas; loved the empanadas (pastelillos in Puerto Rico); and great queso fundido. Everything fresh. The mofonguito was super soft; incredible Criollo sauce! Excellent cilantro rice & beans too. Junior, our server, and the whole team were friendly. Good music too. We'll be back...

Welcoming staff at this beautiful restaurant serving Mexican dishes with interesting twists. I stopped by with my family on a Sunday afternoon around 4:30p and the place was understandably quiet. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating; get a comfy booth, if you can. They do have some beers, but you're coming here for their wine.
Guacamole: solid. Perfectly balanced and very good.
Pulpo y papas: delicious, easily the best dish we had. The octopus was tender and flavorful, and you won't resist drinking the juice left.
Quesadillas: simple, yet yummy.
Tacos de BBQ short ribs: the beef could have used more salt, but was very tender. The tacos were small, though, and I didn't find the combination of flavors particularly captivating. I'd probably order something else next time.
Overall, it's a pleasant and relaxed place to spend a couple of hours. Their menu has plenty of other options I'd be willing to try and the service is outstanding. Looking fwd to my next visit.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
