Would this be a good restaurant for a group birthday dinner? How is the ambiance? It's for a Sunday evening.

It would be! It has an Amazing ambiance. Both times I've been there I've see multiple birthday dinner celebrations. It also has very nice decor that would look nice in pictures.

What a beautiful gem. I almost hate to write this review because I want to keep it a secret. Delicious food in generous portions, gorgeous space and great service. It's a special place for a get together.

03/23/24: Attended a brunch.
Decor is cool and photo worthy for social media.
Staff: server was bit standoffish. Wasn't just me many at the table felt the same.
Food took for ever to arrive.
It was a prefix brunch and honestly the food was just okay. I can be particular about meals however the general consensus of the party was food was bland and needed more seasoning.
Saving grace was the drinks. For the mimosa thankfully besides orange juice the other option was passionfruit. I love passionfruit. I wasn't a fan of the white sangria but others were.
Very cute spot as it seems a lot of celebratory events were happening.
For me and my party the food was mediocre.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 2 - 19352418Aug 2, 2023
THANK YOU BOCADITOS FOR BEING UPTOWN!
If you're ever in the area please give this place a try. The space is beautiful and resembles a tea party vibe. The first time I came here there was an actual tea party happening at another table. The food was GREAT and the staff is super nice and attentive.
I think it's beautiful to have a space where the food not only tastes good but everything around you feels nice. The space is clean, intentionally decorated and people are super friendly.
Our waiter recommended the croquettes and we are HAPPY that we took his advice- they were DELICIOUS. We had a couple of drinks along with our food and our experience here was great!
The only thing I recommend is more items on the menu, other than that.. FABULOUS.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Oct 14, 2023
First off I love the decor of bocaditos it's very pretty and girly. I went on a Friday around 5pm. It was pretty empty which was great because I went to meet a friend to catch up and chat. The waiter was attentive. We ordered the truffle burrata empanadas to share. They were good but it did lack something. I feel like it needed to be mixed with something. They serve it with sauce on the side and that did elevate the taste. I ordered the pan seared salmon with crab fried rice. The salmon was crispy and cooked perfectly. The crab rice had a good flavor. My friends ordered the lobster carbonara and she said it tasted good. Overrall a great place to come and eat with friends.

We walked in and the place was beautiful.. Food taste good and the presentation was Instagram worthy.. BUT THEN THE BILL CAME.. They are very over priced. Party of 3 ordered appetizers, drinks and one dessert to share.. Bill came out to $188.. They added and 18% gratuity to a 3 person bill AND $7 to pay with a credit card.. Restaurants in general have started to take advantage but this one took the cake.. NEVER AGAIN!!!

if I can do zero stars I would! my sister loves going to bocaditos and we always enjoy our time. I made reservations a few days ago for today 8/29 for my sisters birthday. reservations were for 9pm. we got to the restaurant at 8:40 and when we walked in the place was closed. the cook told us they were closed for the night but that's impossible considering I made reservations for 9pm and there was a 9:30pm reservation available as well. I'm extremely disappointed and unhappy, it's unprofessional and my sisters birthday was ruined at your expense.

Arranged and celebrated a Sweet 16 Brunch and the planning went smoothly. The event was beautiful but bunch can be busy and the server was stretched a bit thin which affected time and service.

It is a large restaurant, lots of color and things "going on", imaginative and different. This is good.
We arrived around 6.00pm - just one other table occupied, a couple of gents. The server sat us next to them. As we walked to our table we heard whooping and shouting and laughing from somewhere in the building. Red Flag! We ordered the Vegan Tartare and the Eggplant Croquettes, appetizers and well priced at $15 and $12. The Tartare was beets, sweet potato and avocado. It should have arrived a perfect mounded circle. I know because I make these all the time at home. With the correct tool and patience it's a stunna on a plate. Mine arrived collapsed.
Me: It's collapsed
Server: I know I told the kitchen not to bother doing it again as we needed to get the food out.
Me: I see, and by the way what is all the screaming and shrieking.
Server: It's the owners, the new chef is trying out dishes for the owners and their friends
Me: I see, well its annoying. You have two couples in here and we are to be subjected to this? We cant have conversation and relax.
Server: They are excited and happy
Me: I see, we are paying and not happy. Please see if you can do something.
Server: Walks away
Us: We leave
Other couple: their main dish arrived, and they are sad as they are in for the long haul .
Me: Come to Galicia Tapas with us.
Seriously - I hope the new chef has higher standards for his tartare and a bit more consideration and professionalism for the patrons.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Feb 21, 2022
Came in today on a holiday and to my surprise they were offering brunch. I love when restaurants in NYC Offer brunch on holidays. It just makes my day. This place is super aesthetically pleasing and the food was very delectable. I found it super cute that they offered mock-tails as an option. I had the cucumber mule mock-tail and it was very refreshing and tasty. Now on to the food, I was definitely in the mood for brunch so French toast and turkey bacon was great for me. Y best friend had the mamas breakfast and she said it was one of the best mogul she had before. The waitress offered chicken empanadas as a starter and boy was she right. Amazing food, amazing ambiance and great service. I will def be back!
Lastly I checked in once I arrived and was offered 15% off my check. ThanksHelpful 6Thanks 1Love this 7Oh no 0 - Aditya S.Kendall Park, NJ2331111Jul 28, 2023
A nice little Dominican oasis in Dyckman with an eclectic menu of bocaditos with fresh ingredients and zesty flavors. They have a nice variety of croquettes including goat cheese and almond croquettes bursting with flavor in addition to the typical jamon croquettes which are also on point. The tuna tostones and octopus ceviche were also very fresh. The truffle cheese empanadas were also tasty. The bocaditos menu has more variety than a lot of tapas places in midtown. The service on Thursday afternoon was prompt and courteous with no delay in food orders. La Fuerza cocktail was strong and fresh as was the Lychee bellini. The Rioja wine was very good with a generous pour. The ambiance was charming.
