Tyler was so helpful. I'm amazed that they could troubleshoot my problem so quickly and for a fair price. As an older woman, it felt like a neighbor was looking after me. It was my first time there and I'll be back for any future car issues.

After having a few local repair shops tell me they couldn't do the job due to it being a "dealer item" I posted up an inquiry on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised that there are some shops that will go the extra mile to help keep you out of the dealership.

Case and point, my 2014 Hyundai Sonata. First car (outside of a collectible Dodge Charger) that I've ever owned for at least 10 years. The ABS brake module went belly up and it's a spendy part to say the least. My husband found one back east for $1600 from a Hyundai dealership which was half of what the two local San Jose area dealers were asking.

I dropped my car off with Auto Tec on a Friday morning and they had the new part replaced and programed by Monday early afternoon. The labor charge was affordable, the shop was clean, and the people were very knowledgeable. I actually enjoyed some old school muscle car banter when I first dropped by their shop.

Thanks Auto Tec for looking after my silver stallion! I plan on having the car a couple more years.

I left a review recently and it mysteriously disappeared.

Here's a brief version.

I was taking a trip during a heat wave so I had Auto Tec troubleshoot and service my A/C. The A/C worked for one day. Since I was then in another state, I had to pay another mechanic to do what I had just paid Auto Tec to do. This mechanic said it was clear to see what the issues were.

Did a great job servicing our Tahoe! Took care of multiple oil leaks and fixed an on going ac issue others couldn't get pin pointed. Fair pricing and completed work earlier than expected.

Took care of my timing belt and water pump. Used factory parts for much less than dealer, we will be back.

One of the worst mechanic experiences of my life. I took my car in for a coolant leak. For $1700 my water pump and a couple of hoses were replaced. After picking the car up it continued to leak exactly as it had before, no improvement. I call the shop and am told to bring the car in. They quote me $1085 to fix what they had misdiagnosed in the first place. I request to speak to a manager, and I get Matt who is the co-owner. We come to an agreement for the car to be fixed for $500 and I agree. However, once my car is in the shop and torn apart, Matt doesn't honor it. As if this wasn't enough, when I picked my car up, the check engine light was on. I shook my head and drove away hoping the car would run and that the water leak was fixed, because I would never let these guys work on my car again. 08/25/2024

Brought our 140K+ mile 2007 Honda CRV back earlier this week for another tune-up.

Honest business with excellent customer service.

Brought car in on Monday morning and ready by 3pm.

These guys are the best. They are honest, fair priced, easy to setup appointments with (can drop keys & car off in the morning) and are highly communicative.

I've been taking my cars to Auto Tec for ~one year since my prior mechanic (Akin's Auto) moved a bit too far away from me (Akin is awesome by the way) and Auto Tec has always done good work. I've never felt my spidey senses going up that they were trying to take advantage of me or rip me off in any way. Keep it up Auto Tec!

Terrible experience, I waste 200 dollars!!!
I went to this place for a "used car inspection" because I wanted to be sure of buy a used car and I trusted them, according to their diagnosis the car was good and I decided to buy the vehicle but ohhhh surprise these people from this place did not used the scan, which is something so basic for any mechanic, and they didn't realize that the car's catalytic converter didn't work and I trusted them and paid 200 dollars for a garbage job that they did.
Don't waste your money on this place for a "used car inspection"
Ohhh and I said that they didn't used the scan because my mechanic scanned my car and he could read that the problem has been consistent so is impossible that they couldn't see it before told me that the car "was good"!!
