If your looking for an honest shop this is definitely (which of course who isnt??!) this is the place to go! I had a check engine light on for a misfire on one of my cylinders and I took it to two other shops and after the light continued to come on even after the tune up. Come to find out there was something else going on (don't recall exactly what it was) but they fixed it and it drives great now. They are very honest and efficient. I was happy with the service and I will be going back! :) Thanks Auto Tec

We have been coming to 2013 Auto Tec with our Subaru Outback 3.6R for over 4 years now. We worked with Don for most of that time up to this year. Connor took over and continued to provide honest and transparent pricing and advice. Auto tec is our home mechanic.

This review is a little overdue but COVID-19 landed and I got distracted but it's important for me to write this review since I received such amazing service. I worked with Don Nguyen to have my brakes and rotars checked on March 13, 2020. As a woman I always am worried about getting ripped off at the mechanic but was pleasantly surprised that Don was very honest and candid about what my car needed and what it did not. He did not try to upsell me on stuff I didn't ask for and explained things to me in a way that I could easily understand.

One of my tail lights was out and I asked him if he could just replace both lights since I figured that the other one would burn out soon as well. He let me know the LED lights are expensive and and it's not cost effective to replace one if not burned out. WOW! I've never had a mechanic be that honest with me and frank about what my car really needed.

In the end I only needed a few things fixed on my car and it was turned around the same day and the price was very reasonable and lower than I had expected.

I will definitely be back for all my car's future needs. You can trust these guys to give you fast friendly and honest service.

My car a/c died during the heatwave, and I discovered that my regular mechanic of the last 10 years had gone out of business permanently due to the pandemic. I checked out the local options and decided to give Auto Tec a try. Both the front desk guy Don and the technician Maro were awesome to work with. Maro went for a brief (masked!) test drive with me, explained that the hissing sound was likely low freon levels, and Don provided an accurate and detailed estimate. They fixed it while I was there so I never had to call for a ride home. The price was reasonable and there was neither a hint of condescension for my lack of knowledge about cars nor an attempt to upsell me on other services.

A couple months later, I brought my car back for an oil change and a broken turn signal. They found that my car was burning oil before doing any other work on it, called me, showed me, gave me some honest recommendations about what to do next (get a new car...preferably a Toyota), and refused payment for their time. The sad part is that I did end up getting a new car with comprehensive service plans, so I will probably not be going back to Auto Tec for a while, but I will absolutely recommend them to anyone who does need a mechanic. Honest, friendly, and reliable - it doesn't get much better than this.

Don was all of the above. He could've easily sold me on something I didn't need, but instead he found the best, most fair way to complete the job and did it that way.

I moved back to SoCal now, so I won't be using Don. I hope to find someone as honest and forthcoming as him down here.

Honest folks. Initially talked to someone Friday about my issue and scheduled an appointment for Monday. Ended up dropping my car off Sunday and leaving my eyes in the drop box. Had some transmission issues and saw the reviews at this place to see if they can help out.

Called Monday to see if there was anything wrong. They were able to replicate the issue but not repair it. I told them since I was carless I had a hard time getting back there. The guy offered to pick me up but I declined since I eventually got a ride there.

Since they could not fix my issue there was no charge. I would come back again when I do have car issues again.

Don is the man. He is an honest and fair guy who will make sure you are happy and satisfied.

I started to take my car to AUTO TEC after a miserable experience at Made in Japan. RATED ONE OF THE WORST by checkbook.org.

Auto Tec was the complete opposite from Made In Japan. Friendly, Honest, Family Owned, Price Competitive, and they know what they are doing AND rated one of the best by checkbook.org.

In an effort to save you $$$ they will on occasion do a work around rather than actually fix the problem. That can be good and bad at the same time.

Honest, trustworthy, communicative and very knowledgeable. Its hard to get an appointment at short notice because they do such a good job. I've brought in a Toyota, a Mazda and a BMW and they worked on them all. Explains things clearly without jargon or being condescending.
